³⁷Cuando los dos discípulos le oyeron decir esto, siguieron a Jesús. ³⁸Jesús se volvió y, al ver que lo seguían, les preguntó:

―¿Qué buscáis?

―Rabí, ¿dónde te hospedas? (Rabí significa: Maestro).

³⁹―Venid a ver —les contestó Jesús.

Ellos fueron, pues, y vieron dónde se hospedaba, y aquel mismo día se quedaron con él. Eran como las cuatro de la tarde.^[a]

1:39 Eran … tarde (si se cuentan las horas a partir de las seis de la mañana, según la hora judía). Lit. Era como la hora décima; véase nota en 19:14.

³⁷When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. ³⁸Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”

They said, “Rabbi”^(A) (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”

³⁹“Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”

So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.
