26 Después de la destrucción de Jericó, Josué les advirtió a los israelitas: «Nadie deberá edificar de nuevo la ciudad de Jericó. Cualquiera que trate de hacerlo caerá bajo un terrible castigo de Dios. Si alguien intenta reconstruirla, Dios hará que mueran todos los hijos de esa persona».

Joshua 6:26-27
New International Version
26 At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath:(A) “Cursed(B) before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:
“At the cost of his firstborn son
he will lay its foundations;
at the cost of his youngest
he will set up its gates.”(C)
27 So the Lord was with Joshua,(D) and his fame spread(E) throughout the land.

26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
27 So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.
