“Arise, go to (A)Nineveh, the great city, and (B)cry out against it, because their (C)wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah got up to flee to (D)Tarshish (E)from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to (F)Joppa, found a ship that was going to Tarshish, paid the fare, and [a]boarded it to go with them to Tarshish away from the presence of the Lord.

However, the (G)Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea, so that the ship was about to [b]break up.

But Jonah ran(B) away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish(C). He went down to Joppa,(D) where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.(E)

Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.(F)
