8 這樣，你們結出很多果子，我父就因此得榮耀，你們也就是我的門徒了。 9 父怎樣愛我，我也怎樣愛你們；你們要住在我的愛裡。 10 如果你們遵守我的命令，就必定住在我的愛裡，正像我遵守了我父的命令，住在他的愛裡一樣。
11 “我把這些事告訴了你們，好讓我的喜樂存在你們心裡，並且使你們的喜樂滿溢。 12 你們要彼此相愛，像我愛你們一樣，這就是我的命令。 13 人為朋友捨命，人間的愛沒有比這個更大的了。 14 你們若行我所吩咐你們的，就是我的朋友了。 15 我不再稱你們為僕人，因為僕人不知道主人所作的事；我已經稱你們為朋友了，因為我從我父那裡聽見的一切，都已經告訴你們了。 16 不是你們揀選了我，而是我揀選了你們，並且分派你們去結果子，就是結常存的果子，使你們奉我的名，無論向父求甚麼，他必定賜給你們。 17 我把這些事吩咐你們，是要你們彼此相愛。

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

8 This is to my Father’s glory,(A) that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.(B)
9 “As the Father has loved me,(C) so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands,(D) you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.(E) 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.(F) 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.(G) 14 You are my friends(H) if you do what I command.(I) 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.
