John 9:21-23

21 But how he now sees— we do not know. Or who opened his eyes— we do not know. Ask him. He has a mature-age. He will speak about himself ”. 22 His parents said these things because they were fearing the Jews. For the Jews already had agreed that if anyone confessed Him as the Christ, he should become put-out-of-the-synagogue. 23 For this reason his parents said that “He has a mature-age, question him”.

21 But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.” 22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders,(A) who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out(B) of the synagogue.(C) 23 That was why his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”(D)
