38 I speak of the things which I have seen [a]with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from (A)your father.”
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is (B)our father.” Jesus *said to them, “(C)If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham. 40 But as it is, (D)you are seeking to kill Me, a Man who has (E)told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.

38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence,(A) and you are doing what you have heard from your father.[a]”(B)
39 “Abraham is our father,” they answered.
“If you were Abraham’s children,”(C) said Jesus, “then you would[b] do what Abraham did. 40 As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me,(D) a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.(E) Abraham did not do such things.
