John 6:35-51

New King James Version

³⁵And Jesus said to them, ^(A)“I am the bread of life. ^(B)He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never ^(C)thirst. ³⁶^(D)But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet ^(E)do not believe. ³⁷^(F)All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and ^(G)the one who comes to Me I will ^[a]by no means cast out. ³⁸For I have come down from heaven, ^(H)not to do My own will, ^(I)but the will of Him who sent Me. ³⁹This is the will of the Father who sent Me, ^(J)that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. ⁴⁰And this is the will of Him who sent Me, ^(K)that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Rejected by His Own

⁴¹The Jews then ^[b]complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” ⁴²And they said, ^(L)“Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

⁴³Jesus therefore answered and said to them, ^[c]“Do not murmur among yourselves. ⁴⁴^(M)No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me ^(N)draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁴⁵It is written in the prophets, ^(O)‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ ^(P)Therefore everyone who ^[d]has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. ⁴⁶^(Q)Not that anyone has seen the Father, ^(R)except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. ⁴⁷Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(S)he who believes ^[e]in Me has everlasting life. ⁴⁸^(T)I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹^(U)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ⁵⁰^(V)This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹I am the living bread ^(W)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(X)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

³⁶αλλ ειπον υμιν οτι και εωρακατε με και ου πιστευετε

³⁷παν ο διδωσιν μοι ο πατηρ προς εμε ηξει και τον ερχομενον προς με ου μη εκβαλω εξω

³⁸οτι καταβεβηκα εκ του ουρανου ουχ ινα ποιω το θελημα το εμον αλλα το θελημα του πεμψαντος με

³⁹τουτο δε εστιν το θελημα του πεμψαντος με πατρος ινα παν ο δεδωκεν μοι μη απολεσω εξ αυτου αλλα αναστησω αυτο εν τη εσχατη ημερα

⁴⁰τουτο δε εστιν το θελημα του πεμψαντος με ινα πας ο θεωρων τον υιον και πιστευων εις αυτον εχη ζωην αιωνιον και αναστησω αυτον εγω τη εσχατη ημερα

⁴¹εγογγυζον ουν οι ιουδαιοι περι αυτου οτι ειπεν εγω ειμι ο αρτος ο καταβας εκ του ουρανου

⁴²και ελεγον ουχ ουτος εστιν ιησους ο υιος ιωσηφ ου ημεις οιδαμεν τον πατερα και την μητερα πως ουν λεγει ουτος οτι εκ του ουρανου καταβεβηκα

⁴³απεκριθη ουν ο ιησους και ειπεν αυτοις μη γογγυζετε μετ αλληλων

⁴⁴ουδεις δυναται ελθειν προς με εαν μη ο πατηρ ο πεμψας με ελκυση αυτον και εγω αναστησω αυτον τη εσχατη ημερα

⁴⁵εστιν γεγραμμενον εν τοις προφηταις και εσονται παντες διδακτοι του θεου πας ουν ο ακουσας παρα του πατρος και μαθων ερχεται προς με

⁴⁶ουχ οτι τον πατερα τις εωρακεν ει μη ο ων παρα του θεου ουτος εωρακεν τον πατερα

⁴⁷αμην αμην λεγω υμιν ο πιστευων εις εμε εχει ζωην αιωνιον

⁴⁸εγω ειμι ο αρτος της ζωης

⁴⁹οι πατερες υμων εφαγον το μαννα εν τη ερημω και απεθανον

⁵⁰ουτος εστιν ο αρτος ο εκ του ουρανου καταβαινων ινα τις εξ αυτου φαγη και μη αποθανη

⁵¹εγω ειμι ο αρτος ο ζων ο εκ του ουρανου καταβας εαν τις φαγη εκ τουτου του αρτου ζησεται εις τον αιωνα και ο αρτος δε ον εγω δωσω η σαρξ μου εστιν ην εγω δωσω υπερ της του κοσμου ζωης

How does He now say, ‘^(S)I have come down out of heaven’?” ⁴³Jesus answered and said to them, “Stop complaining among yourselves. ⁴⁴No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me ^(T)draws him; and I will ^(U)raise him up on the last day. ⁴⁵It is written ^(V)in the Prophets: ‘^(W)And they shall all be ^(X)taught of God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. ⁴⁶^(Y)Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. ⁴⁷Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes ^(Z)has eternal life. ⁴⁸^(AA)I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹^(AB)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. ⁵⁰This is the bread that ^(AC)comes down out of heaven, so that anyone may eat from it and ^(AD)not die. ⁵¹^(AE)I am the living bread that ^(AF)came down out of heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, ^(AG)he will live forever; and the bread which I will give ^(AH)for the life of the world also is ^(AI)My flesh.”
