5 這 事 以 後 ， 到 了 猶 太 人 的 一 個 節 期 ， 耶 穌 就 上 耶 路 撒 冷 去 。
2 在 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 靠 近 羊 門 有 一 個 池 子 ， 希 伯 來 話 叫 作 畢 士 大 ， 旁 邊 有 五 個 廊 子 ；
3 裡 面 躺 著 瞎 眼 的 、 瘸 腿 的 、 血 氣 枯 乾 的 許 多 病 人 。 （ 有 古 卷 在 此 有 ： 等 候 水 動 ；
4 因 為 有 天 使 按 時 下 池 子 攪 動 那 水 ， 水 動 之 後 ， 誰 先 下 去 ， 無 論 害 甚 麼 病 就 痊 愈 了 。 ）
5 在 那 裡 有 一 個 人 ， 病 了 三 十 八 年 。
6 耶 穌 看 見 他 躺 著 ， 知 道 他 病 了 許 久 ， 就 問 他 說 ： 你 要 痊 瘉 麼 ？
7 病 人 回 答 說 ： 先 生 ， 水 動 的 時 候 ， 沒 有 人 把 我 放 在 池 子 裡 ； 我 正 去 的 時 候 ， 就 有 別 人 比 我 先 下 去 。
8 耶 穌 對 他 說 ： 起 來 ， 拿 你 的 褥 子 走 罷 ！
9 那 人 立 刻 痊 愈 ， 就 拿 起 褥 子 來 走 了 。
10 那 天 是 安 息 日 ， 所 以 猶 太 人 對 那 醫 好 的 人 說 ： 今 天 是 安 息 日 ， 你 拿 褥 子 是 不 可 的 。
11 他 卻 回 答 說 ： 那 使 我 痊 愈 的 ， 對 我 說 ： 拿 你 的 褥 子 走 罷 。
12 他 們 問 他 說 ： 對 你 說 拿 褥 子 走 的 是 甚 麼 人 ？
13 那 醫 好 的 人 不 知 道 是 誰 ； 因 為 那 裡 的 人 多 ， 耶 穌 已 經 躲 開 了 。
14 後 來 耶 穌 在 殿 裡 遇 見 他 ， 對 他 說 ： 你 已 經 痊 愈 了 ， 不 要 再 犯 罪 ， 恐 怕 你 遭 遇 的 更 加 利 害 。
15 那 人 就 去 告 訴 猶 太 人 ， 使 他 痊 愈 的 是 耶 穌 。
16 所 以 猶 太 人 逼 迫 耶 穌 ， 因 為 他 在 安 息 日 做 了 這 事 。
17 耶 穌 就 對 他 們 說 ： 我 父 做 事 直 到 如 今 ， 我 也 做 事 。
18 所 以 猶 太 人 越 發 想 要 殺 他 ； 因 他 不 但 犯 了 安 息 日 ， 並 且 稱 神 為 他 的 父 ， 將 自 己 和 神 當 作 平 等 。
19 耶 穌 對 他 們 說 ： 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 子 憑 著 自 己 不 能 做 甚 麼 ， 惟 有 看 見 父 所 做 的 ， 子 才 能 做 ； 父 所 做 的 事 ， 子 也 照 樣 做 。
20 父 愛 子 ， 將 自 己 所 做 的 一 切 事 指 給 他 看 ， 還 要 將 比 這 更 大 的 事 指 給 他 看 ， 叫 你 們 希 奇 。
21 父 怎 樣 叫 死 人 起 來 ， 使 他 們 活 著 ， 子 也 照 樣 隨 自 己 的 意 思 使 人 活 著 。
22 父 不 審 判 甚 麼 人 ， 乃 將 審 判 的 事 全 交 與 子 ，
23 叫 人 都 尊 敬 子 如 同 尊 敬 父 一 樣 。 不 尊 敬 子 的 ， 就 是 不 尊 敬 差 子 來 的 父 。
24 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 那 聽 我 話 、 又 信 差 我 來 者 的 ， 就 有 永 生 ； 不 至 於 定 罪 ， 是 已 經 出 死 入 生 了 。
25 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 時 候 將 到 ， 現 在 就 是 了 ， 死 人 要 聽 見 神 兒 子 的 聲 音 ， 聽 見 的 人 就 要 活 了 。
26 因 為 父 怎 樣 在 自 己 有 生 命 ， 就 賜 給 他 兒 子 也 照 樣 在 自 己 有 生 命 ，
27 並 且 因 為 他 是 人 子 ， 就 賜 給 他 行 審 判 的 權 柄 。
28 你 們 不 要 把 這 事 看 作 希 奇 。 時 候 要 到 ， 凡 在 墳 墓 裡 的 ， 都 要 聽 見 他 的 聲 音 ， 就 出 來 ；
29 行 善 的 ， 復 活 得 生 ； 作 惡 的 ， 復 活 定 罪 。
30 我 憑 著 自 己 不 能 做 甚 麼 ， 我 怎 麼 聽 見 就 怎 麼 審 判 。 我 的 審 判 也 是 公 平 的 ； 因 為 我 不 求 自 己 的 意 思 ， 只 求 那 差 我 來 者 的 意 思 。
31 我 若 為 自 己 作 見 證 ， 我 的 見 證 就 不 真 。
32 另 有 一 位 給 我 作 見 證 ， 我 也 知 道 他 給 我 作 的 見 證 是 真 的 。
33 你 們 曾 差 人 到 約 翰 那 裡 ， 他 為 真 理 作 過 見 證 。
34 其 實 ， 我 所 受 的 見 證 不 是 從 人 來 的 ； 然 而 ， 我 說 這 些 話 ， 為 要 叫 你 們 得 救 。
35 約 翰 是 點 著 的 明 燈 ， 你 們 情 願 暫 時 喜 歡 他 的 光 。
36 但 我 有 比 約 翰 更 大 的 見 證 ； 因 為 父 交 給 我 要 我 成 就 的 事 ， 就 是 我 所 做 的 事 ， 這 便 見 證 我 是 父 所 差 來 的 。
37 差 我 來 的 父 也 為 我 作 過 見 證 。 你 們 從 來 沒 有 聽 見 他 的 聲 音 ， 也 沒 有 看 見 他 的 形 像 。
38 你 們 並 沒 有 他 的 道 存 在 心 裡 ； 因 為 他 所 差 來 的 ， 你 們 不 信 。
39 你 們 查 考 聖 經 （ 或 作 ： 應 當 查 考 聖 經 ） ， 因 你 們 以 為 內 中 有 永 生 ； 給 我 作 見 證 的 就 是 這 經 。
40 然 而 ， 你 們 不 肯 到 我 這 裡 來 得 生 命 。
41 我 不 受 從 人 來 的 榮 耀 。
42 但 我 知 道 ， 你 們 心 裡 沒 有 神 的 愛 。
43 我 奉 我 父 的 名 來 ， 你 們 並 不 接 待 我 ； 若 有 別 人 奉 自 己 的 名 來 ， 你 們 倒 要 接 待 他 。
44 你 們 互 相 受 榮 耀 ， 卻 不 求 從 獨 一 之 神 來 的 榮 耀 ， 怎 能 信 我 呢 ？
45 不 要 想 我 在 父 面 前 要 告 你 們 ； 有 一 位 告 你 們 的 ， 就 是 你 們 所 仰 賴 的 摩 西 。
46 你 們 如 果 信 摩 西 ， 也 必 信 我 ， 因 為 他 書 上 有 指 著 我 寫 的 話 。
47 你 們 若 不 信 他 的 書 ， 怎 能 信 我 的 話 呢 ？
6 這 事 以 後 ， 耶 穌 渡 過 加 利 利 海 ， 就 是 提 比 哩 亞 海 。
2 有 許 多 人 因 為 看 見 他 在 病 人 身 上 所 行 的 神 蹟 ， 就 跟 隨 他 。
3 耶 穌 上 了 山 ， 和 門 徒 一 同 坐 在 那 裡 。
4 那 時 猶 太 人 的 逾 越 節 近 了 。
5 耶 穌 舉 目 看 見 許 多 人 來 ， 就 對 腓 力 說 ： 我 們 從 那 裡 買 餅 叫 這 些 人 吃 呢 ？
6 他 說 這 話 是 要 試 驗 腓 力 ； 他 自 己 原 知 道 要 怎 樣 行 。
7 腓 力 回 答 說 ： 就 是 二 十 兩 銀 子 的 餅 ， 叫 他 們 各 人 吃 一 點 也 是 不 夠 的 。
8 有 一 個 門 徒 ， 就 是 西 門 彼 得 的 兄 弟 安 得 烈 ， 對 耶 穌 說 ：
9 在 這 裡 有 一 個 孩 童 ， 帶 著 五 個 大 麥 餅 、 兩 條 魚 ， 只 是 分 給 這 許 多 人 還 算 甚 麼 呢 ？
10 耶 穌 說 ： 你 們 叫 眾 人 坐 下 。 原 來 那 地 方 的 草 多 ， 眾 人 就 坐 下 ， 數 目 約 有 五 千 。
11 耶 穌 拿 起 餅 來 ， 祝 謝 了 ， 就 分 給 那 坐 著 的 人 ； 分 魚 也 是 這 樣 ， 都 隨 著 他 們 所 要 的 。
12 他 們 吃 飽 了 ， 耶 穌 對 門 徒 說 ： 把 剩 下 的 零 碎 收 拾 起 來 ， 免 得 有 糟 蹋 的 。
13 他 們 便 將 那 五 個 大 麥 餅 的 零 碎 ， 就 是 眾 人 吃 了 剩 下 的 ， 收 拾 起 來 ， 裝 滿 了 十 二 個 籃 子 。
14 眾 人 看 見 耶 穌 所 行 的 神 蹟 ， 就 說 ： 這 真 是 那 要 到 世 間 來 的 先 知 ！
15 耶 穌 既 知 道 眾 人 要 來 強 逼 他 作 王 ， 就 獨 自 又 退 到 山 上 去 了 。
16 到 了 晚 上 ， 他 的 門 徒 下 海 邊 去 ，
17 上 了 船 ， 要 過 海 往 迦 百 農 去 。 天 已 經 黑 了 ， 耶 穌 還 沒 有 來 到 他 們 那 裡 。
18 忽 然 狂 風 大 作 ， 海 就 翻 騰 起 來 。
19 門 徒 搖 櫓 ， 約 行 了 十 里 多 路 ， 看 見 耶 穌 在 海 面 上 走 ， 漸 漸 近 了 船 ， 他 們 就 害 怕 。
20 耶 穌 對 他 們 說 ： 是 我 ， 不 要 怕 ！
21 門 徒 就 喜 歡 接 他 上 船 ， 船 立 時 到 了 他 們 所 要 去 的 地 方 。
22 第 二 日 ， 站 在 海 那 邊 的 眾 人 知 道 那 裡 沒 有 別 的 船 ， 只 有 一 隻 小 船 ， 又 知 道 耶 穌 沒 有 同 他 的 門 徒 上 船 ， 乃 是 門 徒 自 己 去 的 。
23 然 而 ， 有 幾 隻 小 船 從 提 比 哩 亞 來 ， 靠 近 主 祝 謝 後 分 餅 給 人 吃 的 地 方 。
24 眾 人 見 耶 穌 和 門 徒 都 不 在 那 裡 ， 就 上 了 船 ， 往 迦 百 農 去 找 耶 穌 。
25 既 在 海 那 邊 找 著 了 ， 就 對 他 說 ： 拉 比 ， 是 幾 時 到 這 裡 來 的 ？
26 耶 穌 回 答 說 ： 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 你 們 找 我 ， 並 不 是 因 見 了 神 蹟 ， 乃 是 因 吃 餅 得 飽 。
27 不 要 為 那 必 壞 的 食 物 勞 力 ， 要 為 那 存 到 永 生 的 食 物 勞 力 ， 就 是 人 子 要 賜 給 你 們 的 ， 因 為 人 子 是 父 神 所 印 證 的 。
28 眾 人 問 他 說 ： 我 們 當 行 甚 麼 ， 才 算 做 神 的 工 呢 ？
29 耶 穌 回 答 說 ： 信 神 所 差 來 的 ， 這 就 是 做 神 的 工 。
30 他 們 又 說 ： 你 行 甚 麼 神 蹟 ， 叫 我 們 看 見 就 信 你 ； 你 到 底 做 甚 麼 事 呢 ？
31 我 們 的 祖 宗 在 曠 野 吃 過 嗎 哪 ， 如 經 上 寫 著 說 ： 他 從 天 上 賜 下 糧 來 給 他 們 吃 。
32 耶 穌 說 ： 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 那 從 天 上 來 的 糧 不 是 摩 西 賜 給 你 們 的 ， 乃 是 我 父 將 天 上 來 的 真 糧 賜 給 你 們 。
33 因 為 神 的 糧 就 是 那 從 天 上 降 下 來 、 賜 生 命 給 世 界 的 。
34 他 們 說 ： 主 阿 ， 常 將 這 糧 賜 給 我 們 ！
35 耶 穌 說 ： 我 就 是 生 命 的 糧 。 到 我 這 裡 來 的 ， 必 定 不 餓 ； 信 我 的 ， 永 遠 不 渴 。
36 只 是 我 對 你 們 說 過 ， 你 們 已 經 看 見 我 ， 還 是 不 信 。
37 凡 父 所 賜 給 我 的 人 必 到 我 這 裡 來 ； 到 我 這 裡 來 的 ， 我 總 不 丟 棄 他 。
38 因 為 我 從 天 上 降 下 來 ， 不 是 要 按 自 己 的 意 思 行 ， 乃 是 要 按 那 差 我 來 者 的 意 思 行 。
39 差 我 來 者 的 意 思 就 是 ： 他 所 賜 給 我 的 ， 叫 我 一 個 也 不 失 落 ， 在 末 日 卻 叫 他 復 活 。
40 因 為 我 父 的 意 思 是 叫 一 切 見 子 而 信 的 人 得 永 生 ， 並 且 在 末 日 我 要 叫 他 復 活 。
41 猶 太 人 因 為 耶 穌 說 我 是 從 天 上 降 下 來 的 糧 ， 就 私 下 議 論 他 ，
42 說 ： 這 不 是 約 瑟 的 兒 子 耶 穌 麼 ？ 他 的 父 母 我 們 豈 不 認 得 麼 ？ 他 如 今 怎 麼 說 我 是 從 天 上 降 下 來 的 呢 ？
43 耶 穌 回 答 說 ： 你 們 不 要 大 家 議 論 。
44 若 不 是 差 我 來 的 父 吸 引 人 ， 就 沒 有 能 到 我 這 裡 來 的 ； 到 我 這 裡 來 的 ， 在 末 日 我 要 叫 他 復 活 。
45 在 先 知 書 上 寫 著 說 ： 他 們 都 要 蒙 神 的 教 訓 。 凡 聽 見 父 之 教 訓 又 學 習 的 ， 就 到 我 這 裡 來 。
46 這 不 是 說 有 人 看 見 過 父 ； 惟 獨 從 神 來 的 ， 他 看 見 過 父 。
47 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 信 的 人 有 永 生 。
48 我 就 是 生 命 的 糧 。
49 你 們 的 祖 宗 在 曠 野 吃 過 嗎 哪 ， 還 是 死 了 。
50 這 是 從 天 上 降 下 來 的 糧 ， 叫 人 吃 了 就 不 死 。
51 我 是 從 天 上 降 下 來 生 命 的 糧 ； 人 若 吃 這 糧 ， 就 必 永 遠 活 著 。 我 所 要 賜 的 糧 就 是 我 的 肉 ， 為 世 人 之 生 命 所 賜 的 。
52 因 此 ， 猶 太 人 彼 此 爭 論 說 ： 這 個 人 怎 能 把 他 的 肉 給 我 們 吃 呢 ？
53 耶 穌 說 ： 我 實 實 在 在 的 告 訴 你 們 ， 你 們 若 不 吃 人 子 的 肉 ， 不 喝 人 子 的 血 ， 就 沒 有 生 命 在 你 們 裡 面 。
54 吃 我 肉 、 喝 我 血 的 人 就 有 永 生 ， 在 末 日 我 要 叫 他 復 活 。
55 我 的 肉 真 是 可 吃 的 ， 我 的 血 真 是 可 喝 的 。
56 吃 我 肉 、 喝 我 血 的 人 常 在 我 裡 面 ， 我 也 常 在 他 裡 面 。
57 永 活 的 父 怎 樣 差 我 來 ， 我 又 因 父 活 著 ； 照 樣 ， 吃 我 肉 的 人 也 要 因 我 活 著 。
58 這 就 是 從 天 上 降 下 來 的 糧 。 吃 這 糧 的 人 就 永 遠 活 著 ， 不 像 你 們 的 祖 宗 吃 過 嗎 哪 還 是 死 了 。
59 這 些 話 是 耶 穌 在 迦 百 農 會 堂 裡 教 訓 人 說 的 。
60 他 的 門 徒 中 有 好 些 人 聽 見 了 ， 就 說 ： 這 話 甚 難 ， 誰 能 聽 呢 ？
61 耶 穌 心 裡 知 道 門 徒 為 這 話 議 論 ， 就 對 他 們 說 ： 這 話 是 叫 你 們 厭 棄 （ 原 文 是 跌 倒 ） 麼 ？
62 倘 或 你 們 看 見 人 子 升 到 他 原 來 所 在 之 處 ， 怎 麼 樣 呢 ？
63 叫 人 活 著 的 乃 是 靈 ， 肉 體 是 無 益 的 。 我 對 你 們 所 說 的 話 就 是 靈 ， 就 是 生 命 。
64 只 是 你 們 中 間 有 不 信 的 人 。 耶 穌 從 起 頭 就 知 道 誰 不 信 他 ， 誰 要 賣 他 。
65 耶 穌 又 說 ： 所 以 我 對 你 們 說 過 ， 若 不 是 蒙 我 父 的 恩 賜 ， 沒 有 人 能 到 我 這 裡 來 。
66 從 此 ， 他 門 徒 中 多 有 退 去 的 ， 不 再 和 他 同 行 。
67 耶 穌 就 對 那 十 二 個 門 徒 說 ： 你 們 也 要 去 麼 ？
68 西 門 彼 得 回 答 說 ： 主 阿 ， 你 有 永 生 之 道 ， 我 們 還 歸 從 誰 呢 ？
69 我 們 已 經 信 了 ， 又 知 道 你 是 神 的 聖 者 。
70 耶 穌 說 ： 我 不 是 揀 選 了 你 們 十 二 個 門 徒 麼 ？ 但 你 們 中 間 有 一 個 是 魔 鬼 。
71 耶 穌 這 話 是 指 著 加 略 人 西 門 的 兒 子 猶 大 說 的 ； 他 本 是 十 二 個 門 徒 裡 的 一 個 ， 後 來 要 賣 耶 穌 的 。

耶稣在毕士大池边治病
5 这事以后，犹太人的一个节期到了，耶稣便上耶路撒冷。 2 耶路撒冷靠近羊门的地方有一个水池，希伯来话叫毕士大，池边有五条走廊， 3 里面躺着瞎眼的、瘸腿的、瘫痪的等许多病人。 4 他们都在等候天使来搅动池水。水动时，第一个下去的，无论患什么病都会痊愈。[a]
5 那里有一个人病了三十八年。 6 耶稣看他躺着，知道他病了很久，就问他：“你想痊愈吗？”
7 那人回答说：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放进池子里，我要下去的时候，别人总是先我一步。”
8 耶稣对他说：“起来，拿起你的垫子走吧！”
9 那人立刻痊愈了，拿起垫子开始行走。那天正好是安息日， 10 犹太人便对那人说：“今天是安息日，你不可拿着垫子走路。”
11 他说：“那位医好我的叫我拿起垫子走。”
12 他们问他：“叫你拿起垫子走的人是谁？”
13 那人不知道是谁，因为那里人多，耶稣已经躲开了。
14 后来，耶稣在圣殿里遇见他，对他说：“现在你已经完全好了，别再犯罪了，免得你遭遇更不幸的事。”
15 那人便去告诉犹太人医好他的是耶稣。 16 因为耶稣在安息日给人治病，犹太人开始迫害祂。 17 耶稣对他们说：“我父一直在工作，我也一直在工作。”
18 犹太人听了，更想杀祂，因祂不但违犯了安息日的规矩，还称上帝为父，把自己看作与上帝平等。
圣子的权柄
19 耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，子凭自己什么都不能做，唯有看见父做什么，子才做什么。无论父做什么，子也照样做。 20 父因为爱子，便把自己的一切作为给祂看，而且还要把比这些更大的作为给祂看，叫你们惊奇。 21 父如何使死人复活、赐生命给他们，子也照样想赐生命给谁，就赐给谁。 22 父不审判人，祂将审判的事全交给子， 23 叫人尊敬子如同尊敬父。不尊敬子的，就是不尊敬差子来的父。
24 “我实实在在地告诉你们，谁听从我的话，又信差我来的那位，谁就有永生，不被定罪，已经出死入生了。 25 我实实在在地告诉你们，时候快到了，现在就是，死人将听见上帝儿子的声音，听见的将存活。 26 因为正如父自己是生命的源头，祂也同样让子作生命的源头， 27 又把审判的权柄交给祂，因为祂是人子。 28 你们不要因此而惊奇，时候一到，一切在坟墓里的死人都要听见上帝儿子的声音， 29 他们都要从坟墓里出来。行善的人复活后得永生，作恶的人复活后被定罪。”
见证耶稣
30 耶稣继续说：“我凭自己不能做什么，我按父上帝的旨意审判，我的审判是公平的；因为我不是按自己的旨意行，而是按差我来者的旨意行。
31 “如果我为自己做见证，我的见证是无效的。 32 然而，有别的人给我做见证，我知道他为我做的见证是真实的。 33 你们曾派人到约翰那里，他为真理做过见证。 34 其实我并不需要人的见证，我之所以提起这些事是为了使你们得救。 35 约翰是一盏点亮的明灯，你们情愿暂时享受他的光。 36 但是我有比约翰更大的见证，因为父交待我去完成的工作，就是我现在所做的工作，证明我是父差来的。 37 差我来的父曾亲自为我做过见证。你们从未听过祂的声音，从未见过祂， 38 心里也没有祂的道，因为你们不信祂所差来的那位。 39 你们研读圣经，以为从圣经中可以得到永生。其实为我做见证的正是这圣经， 40 但你们却不肯到我这里来得生命。
41 “我不接受人所给予的荣耀， 42 我知道你们没有爱上帝的心。 43 我奉我父的名来，你们不接受我；若有人奉自己的名来，你们却接受他。 44 你们喜欢互相恭维，却不追求从独一上帝来的荣耀，怎能信我呢？ 45 不要以为我会在父面前控告你们，其实控告你们的是你们一直信赖的摩西。 46 你们若信摩西，就应该信我，因为他的书里也提到我。 47 如果你们连他写的都不信，又怎能信我的话呢？”
耶稣使五千人吃饱
6 事后，耶稣渡过加利利湖，就是提比哩亚海。 2 许多人因为见过耶稣治病的神迹，就跟随了祂。 3 耶稣到了山上，与门徒一起坐下来。 4 那时，犹太人的逾越节快到了。 5 耶稣举目看见一大群人向祂走来，就对腓力说：“我们到哪里去买饼给他们吃呢？” 6 祂这样说是想试试腓力，其实祂知道应该怎么做。
7 腓力回答说：“就算买二百个银币[b]的饼，也不够他们每人一口啊！”
8 另外一个门徒——西门·彼得的弟弟安得烈对耶稣说： 9 “这里有个小孩子带了五个大麦饼和两条鱼。不过，这么多人，这一点东西实在无济于事。”
10 耶稣说：“你们叫大家坐下。”那地方草很多，众人便坐下来，当时在场的男人大约有五千。 11 耶稣拿起饼来祝谢后，分给坐着的众人，然后又照样分鱼，众人可以随意吃。 12 他们吃饱后，耶稣对门徒说：“把剩下的零碎收拾起来，免得浪费。”

耶稣在湖面上行走
16 傍晚的时候，门徒来到湖边， 17 上了船，去湖对岸的迦百农。天色已暗，耶稣还没到他们那里。 18 忽然，湖面上狂风大作，波涛汹涌。 19 门徒摇橹，大约行了五六公里，突然看见耶稣在水面上朝他们的船走来，他们很害怕。 20 耶稣对他们说：“是我，不要怕。” 21 于是门徒欢然接祂上船，船立刻到了目的地。
生命之粮
22 第二天，留在对岸的众人看见那里只有一条船，耶稣没有和门徒一起坐船离开。 23 后来有几条从提比哩亚来的小船停泊在岸边，靠近主祝谢后让众人吃饼的地方。 24 他们发现耶稣和门徒都不在那里，就乘船到迦百农去找祂。
25 他们在湖对岸找到了耶稣，对祂说：“老师，你什么时候到这里来的？”
26 耶稣回答说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，你们找我，并不是因为看见了神迹，而是因为你们有饼吃，并且吃饱了。 27 不要为那必坏的食物劳苦，要为那存到永生的食物，就是人子要赐给你们的食物劳苦，因为父上帝把这权柄交给了人子。”
28 众人问祂：“我们要怎样做，才算是做上帝的工作呢？”
29 耶稣说：“信上帝所差来的那位，就是做上帝的工作。”
30 他们又问：“那么，你行什么神迹让我们看了可以信你呢？你要做什么呢？ 31 我们的祖先在旷野有吗哪吃，正如圣经上说，‘祂赐下天粮给他们吃。’”
32 耶稣却说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，不是摩西从天上赐给了你们粮食，而是我父将天上的真粮食赐给你们。 33 因为上帝赐的粮就是从天降下、赐生命给世人的那位。”
34 他们说：“先生，求你把这种粮食天天赐给我们吧。”
35 耶稣说：“我就是生命的粮，到我这里来的人必定不饿，信我的人必永远不渴。 36 但我对你们说过，你们虽然亲眼看见我，仍然不信。 37 凡父赐给我的人，必到我这里来。到我这里来的，我总不丢弃他。 38 因为我从天上下来，不是要成就自己的旨意，而是要成就差我来者的旨意。 39 差我来者的旨意是，祂所赐给我的，我一个也不失掉，在末日我要叫他们复活。 40 因为我父的旨意是要叫一切看见儿子并相信的人得到永生，在末日，我要叫他们复活。”
41 犹太人听见耶稣说自己是从天上降下来的粮，就小声议论， 42 说：“这不是约瑟的儿子耶稣吗？祂的父母，我们都认识，祂现在怎么能说自己是从天上降下来的呢？”
43 耶稣回答他们说：“你们不用议论纷纷。 44 如果不是差我来的父吸引人到我这里来，没有人能来。到我这里来的，在末日，我要叫他复活。 45 先知书上这样说，‘他们都要受上帝的训诲’，这里是指凡听从父的教导又去效法的人，都会到我这里来。 46 这并不是说有人见过父，唯独从上帝而来的那位见过父。 47 我实实在在地告诉你们，信我的人有永生， 48 因为我是生命的粮。 49 你们的祖先在旷野吃过吗哪，还是死了。 50 但这是从天上降下来的粮，人吃了就不死。 51 我就是天上降下来的生命之粮，人吃了这粮，必永远活着。我将要赐下的粮就是我的肉，是为了让世人得到生命。”
52 犹太人开始彼此争论，说：“这个人怎么能把自己的肉给我们吃呢？”
53 耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，如果你们不吃人子的肉，不喝人子的血，就没有生命。 54 吃我肉、喝我血的人有永生，在末日，我要叫他复活。 55 因为我的肉是真粮食，我的血是真饮品， 56 吃我肉、喝我血的人常在我里面，我也常在他里面。 57 永活的父差我来，我是靠祂而活。同样，吃我肉的人也靠我而活。 58 我是从天上降下来的真粮，吃这粮的人必永远活着，不像你们的祖先，虽然吃过吗哪，最后还是死了。”
59 这番话是耶稣在迦百农会堂里教导人的时候讲的。
永生之道
60 祂的许多门徒听了，就议论说：“这话实在难懂，谁能接受呢？”
61 耶稣知道门徒在议论，就说：“这话叫你们失去信心吗？ 62 如果你们看见人子升到祂原来所在的地方，会怎么样呢？ 63 叫人活着的是灵，肉体毫无作用。我对你们说的话就是灵，就是生命。 64 然而，你们中间有些人不信。”因为耶稣一开始就知道谁不信祂、谁会出卖祂。
65 祂继续说：“所以我曾对你们说，如果不是我父赐恩，没有人能到我这里来。”
66 从此，很多门徒离开了，不再跟从耶稣。
67 于是耶稣问那十二个门徒：“你们也要离开我吗？”
68 西门·彼得答道：“主啊！你有永生之道，我们还跟从谁呢？ 69 我们已经相信并且知道你是上帝的圣者。”

The Healing at the Pool
5 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate(A) a pool, which in Aramaic(B) is called Bethesda[a] and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. [4] [b] 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”(C) 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,(D) 10 and so the Jewish leaders(E) said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”(F)
11 But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”
12 So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?”
13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning(G) or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders(H) that it was Jesus who had made him well.
The Authority of the Son
16 So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. 17 In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father(I) is always at his work(J) to this very day, and I too am working.” 18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him;(K) not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.(L)
19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself;(M) he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son(N) and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these,(O) so that you will be amazed. 21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life,(P) even so the Son gives life(Q) to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,(R) 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.(S)
24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me(T) has eternal life(U) and will not be judged(V) but has crossed over from death to life.(W) 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come(X) when the dead will hear(Y) the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life(Z) in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge(AA) because he is the Son of Man.
28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming(AB) when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.(AC) 30 By myself I can do nothing;(AD) I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just,(AE) for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.(AF)
Testimonies About Jesus
31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.(AG) 32 There is another who testifies in my favor,(AH) and I know that his testimony about me is true.
33 “You have sent to John and he has testified(AI) to the truth. 34 Not that I accept human testimony;(AJ) but I mention it that you may be saved.(AK) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(AL) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(AM) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(AN)—testify that the Father has sent me.(AO) 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(AP) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(AQ) 38 nor does his word dwell in you,(AR) for you do not believe(AS) the one he sent.(AT) 39 You study[c] the Scriptures(AU) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(AV) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(AW) 40 yet you refuse to come to me(AX) to have life.
41 “I do not accept glory from human beings,(AY) 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God[d]?(AZ)
45 “But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses,(BA) on whom your hopes are set.(BB) 46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.(BC) 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”(BD)
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand(BE)
6 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), 2 and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs(BF) he had performed by healing the sick. 3 Then Jesus went up on a mountainside(BG) and sat down with his disciples. 4 The Jewish Passover Festival(BH) was near.
5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip,(BI) “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[e] to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”
8 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother,(BJ) spoke up, 9 “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”(BK)
10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks,(BL) and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.
14 After the people saw the sign(BM) Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”(BN) 15 Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king(BO) by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.(BP)
Jesus Walks on the Water(BQ)
16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles,[f] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water;(BR) and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.”(BS) 21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake(BT) realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone.(BU) 23 Then some boats from Tiberias(BV) landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.(BW) 24 Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.
Jesus the Bread of Life
25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi,(BX) when did you get here?”
26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me,(BY) not because you saw the signs(BZ) I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures(CA) to eternal life,(CB) which the Son of Man(CC) will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal(CD) of approval.”
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe(CE) in the one he has sent.”(CF)
30 So they asked him, “What sign(CG) then will you give that we may see it and believe you?(CH) What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna(CI) in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[g]”(CJ)
32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven(CK) and gives life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”(CL)
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am(CM) the bread of life.(CN) Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes(CO) in me will never be thirsty.(CP) 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me(CQ) will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven(CR) not to do my will but to do the will(CS) of him who sent me.(CT) 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me,(CU) but raise them up at the last day.(CV) 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son(CW) and believes in him shall have eternal life,(CX) and I will raise them up at the last day.”
41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 42 They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph,(CY) whose father and mother we know?(CZ) How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?”(DA)
43 “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered. 44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them,(DB) and I will raise them up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’[h](DC) Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God;(DD) only he has seen the Father. 47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.(DE) 48 I am the bread of life.(DF) 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.(DG) 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven,(DH) which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread(DI) that came down from heaven.(DJ) Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”(DK)
52 Then the Jews(DL) began to argue sharply among themselves,(DM) “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh(DN) of the Son of Man(DO) and drink his blood,(DP) you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.(DQ) 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.(DR) 57 Just as the living Father sent me(DS) and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”(DT) 59 He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
Many Disciples Desert Jesus
60 On hearing it, many of his disciples(DU) said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”(DV)
61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you?(DW) 62 Then what if you see the Son of Man(DX) ascend to where he was before!(DY) 63 The Spirit gives life;(DZ) the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[i] and life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known(EA) from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.(EB) 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”(EC)
66 From this time many of his disciples(ED) turned back and no longer followed him.
67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.(EE)
68 Simon Peter answered him,(EF) “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.(EG) 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”(EH)
70 Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you,(EI) the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”(EJ) 71 (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot,(EK) who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)(EL)
