Modern English Version
37 The Father Himself, who has sent Me, has borne witness of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. 38 You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe the One He has sent. 39 You search the Scriptures, because you think in them you have eternal life. These are they who bear witness of Me.

37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(A) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(B) 38 nor does his word dwell in you,(C) for you do not believe(D) the one he sent.(E) 39 You study[a] the Scriptures(F) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(G) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(H)
