35 John was like a burning and shining lamp. And you were happy to enjoy his light for a while.
36 “But I have a proof about myself that is greater than that of John. The things I do are my proof. These are the things my Father gave me to do. They show that the Father sent me. 37 And the Father who sent me has given proof about me himself. You have never heard his voice. You have never seen what he looks like.

35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(A) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(B) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(C)—testify that the Father has sent me.(D) 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(E) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(F)
