瑣法言惡者暫興終必滅亡
20 拿瑪人瑣法回答說: 2 「我心中急躁,所以我的思念叫我回答。 3 我已聽見那羞辱我責備我的話,我的悟性叫我回答。 4 你豈不知亙古以來,自從人生在地, 5 惡人誇勝是暫時的,不敬虔人的喜樂不過轉眼之間嗎? 6 他的尊榮雖達到天上,頭雖頂到雲中, 7 他終必滅亡,像自己的糞一樣。素來見他的人要說:『他在哪裡呢?』 8 他必飛去如夢,不再尋見;速被趕去,如夜間的異象。 9 親眼見過他的,必不再見他;他的本處,也再見不著他。 10 他的兒女要求窮人的恩,他的手要賠還不義之財。 11 他的骨頭雖然有青年之力,卻要和他一同躺臥在塵土中。
12 「他口內雖以惡為甘甜,藏在舌頭底下, 13 愛戀不捨,含在口中; 14 他的食物在肚裡卻要化為酸,在他裡面成為虺蛇的惡毒。 15 他吞了財寶,還要吐出,神要從他腹中掏出來。 16 他必吸飲虺蛇的毒氣,蝮蛇的舌頭也必殺他。 17 流奶與蜜之河,他不得再見。 18 他勞碌得來的要賠還,不得享用[a],不能照所得的財貨歡樂。 19 他欺壓窮人,且又離棄,強取非自己所蓋的房屋[b]。
20 「他因貪而無厭,所喜悅的連一樣也不能保守。 21 其餘的沒有一樣他不吞滅,所以他的福樂不能長久。 22 他在滿足有餘的時候,必到狹窄的地步;凡受苦楚的人,都必加手在他身上。 23 他正要充滿肚腹的時候,神必將猛烈的憤怒降在他身上;正在他吃飯的時候,要將這憤怒像雨降在他身上。 24 他要躲避鐵器,銅弓的箭要將他射透。 25 他把箭一抽,就從他身上出來,發光的箭頭從他膽中出來,有驚惶臨在他身上。 26 他的財寶歸於黑暗,人所不吹的火要把他燒滅,要把他帳篷中所剩下的燒毀。 27 天要顯明他的罪孽,地要興起攻擊他。 28 他的家產必然過去,神發怒的日子他的貨物都要消滅。 29 這是惡人從神所得的份,是神為他所定的產業。」

20 拿玛人琐法回答说:
2 “我感到烦躁不安,
心中有话不吐不快。
3 我听见你侮辱我的斥责,
我的理智催促我回答。
4 难道你不知道,从古至今,
自从世上有人以来,
5 恶人得势不会长久,
不信上帝者的快乐转瞬即逝?
6 虽然他傲气冲天,
把头挺到云端,
7 终必如自己的粪便永远消亡,
见过他的人都不知他在何处。
8 他如梦消逝,踪影杳然;
如夜间的异象,飞逝而去。
9 见过他的人不会再见到他,
他将从家乡消失无踪。
10 他的儿女要向穷人乞怜,
他要亲手偿还不义之财。
11 他的筋骨依然强健,
却要随他葬入尘土。
12 “他以邪恶为甘饴,
将其藏在舌下,
13 含在口中,
慢慢品味。
14 这食物在腹中变酸,
变成了蛇的毒液。
15 他要吐出所吞下的财富,
上帝要倒空他腹中之物。
16 他吸吮蛇的毒液,
被蛇的舌头害死。
17 他无法享用流淌不尽的奶与蜜。
18 他留不住劳碌的成果,
无法享用所赚的财富。
19 他欺压、漠视穷人,
强占别人的房屋。
20 他贪欲无度,
不放过任何喜爱之物。
21 他吞掉一切所有,
他的福乐不能长久。
22 他在富足时将陷入困境,
各种灾祸将接踵而至。
23 上帝的怒火如雨降在他身上,
填满他的肚腹。
24 他躲过了铁刃,
却被铜箭射穿。
25 利箭穿透他的后背,
闪亮的箭头刺破他的胆囊,
恐怖笼罩着他。
26 他的财宝消失在幽冥中,
天火[a]要吞噬他,
焚毁他帐篷中残留的一切。
27 天要揭露他的罪恶,
地要站出来指控他。
28 在上帝发烈怒的日子,

20 Then Zophar the Naamathite(A) replied:
2 “My troubled thoughts prompt me to answer
because I am greatly disturbed.(B)
3 I hear a rebuke(C) that dishonors me,
and my understanding inspires me to reply.
4 “Surely you know how it has been from of old,(D)
ever since mankind[a] was placed on the earth,
5 that the mirth of the wicked(E) is brief,
the joy of the godless(F) lasts but a moment.(G)
6 Though the pride(H) of the godless person reaches to the heavens(I)
and his head touches the clouds,(J)
7 he will perish forever,(K) like his own dung;
those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’(L)
8 Like a dream(M) he flies away,(N) no more to be found,
banished(O) like a vision of the night.(P)
9 The eye that saw him will not see him again;
his place will look on him no more.(Q)
10 His children(R) must make amends to the poor;
his own hands must give back his wealth.(S)
11 The youthful vigor(T) that fills his bones(U)
will lie with him in the dust.(V)
12 “Though evil(W) is sweet in his mouth
and he hides it under his tongue,(X)
13 though he cannot bear to let it go
and lets it linger in his mouth,(Y)
14 yet his food will turn sour in his stomach;(Z)
it will become the venom of serpents(AA) within him.
15 He will spit out the riches(AB) he swallowed;
God will make his stomach vomit(AC) them up.
16 He will suck the poison(AD) of serpents;
the fangs of an adder will kill him.(AE)
17 He will not enjoy the streams,
the rivers(AF) flowing with honey(AG) and cream.(AH)
18 What he toiled for he must give back uneaten;(AI)
he will not enjoy the profit from his trading.(AJ)
19 For he has oppressed the poor(AK) and left them destitute;(AL)
he has seized houses(AM) he did not build.
20 “Surely he will have no respite from his craving;(AN)
he cannot save himself by his treasure.(AO)
21 Nothing is left for him to devour;
his prosperity will not endure.(AP)
22 In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake him;(AQ)
the full force of misery will come upon him.(AR)
23 When he has filled his belly,(AS)
God will vent his burning anger(AT) against him
and rain down his blows on him.(AU)
24 Though he flees(AV) from an iron weapon,
a bronze-tipped arrow pierces him.(AW)
25 He pulls it out of his back,
the gleaming point out of his liver.
Terrors(AX) will come over him;(AY)
26 total darkness(AZ) lies in wait for his treasures.
A fire(BA) unfanned will consume him(BB)
and devour what is left in his tent.(BC)
27 The heavens will expose his guilt;
the earth will rise up against him.(BD)
28 A flood will carry off his house,(BE)
rushing waters[b] on the day of God’s wrath.(BF)
29 Such is the fate God allots the wicked,
the heritage appointed for them by God.”(BG)
