17 ¶»Cuán bienaventurado es el hombre a quien Dios reprende(A);
No desprecies, pues, la disciplina del Todopoderoso[a](B).
18 -»Porque Él inflige dolor, pero da alivio[b];
Él hiere, pero Sus manos también sanan(C).
19 -»De[c] seis aflicciones te librará(D),
Y en la séptima no te tocará el mal(E).
20 -»En el hambre, Él te salvará de la muerte(F),
Y en la guerra, del poder de la espada(G).
21 -»Estarás a cubierto del azote de la lengua(H),
Y no temerás la violencia cuando venga(I).
22 -»De la violencia y del hambre te reirás(J),
Y no temerás a las fieras de la tierra(K).
23 -»Pues con las piedras del campo harás tu alianza,
Y las fieras del campo estarán en paz contigo(L).
24 -»Y sabrás que tu tienda está segura[d],
Porque visitarás tu morada y no temerás pérdida alguna(M).
25 -»También sabrás que tu descendencia[e] será numerosa(N),
Y tus vástagos como la hierba de la tierra(O).
26 -»En pleno vigor llegarás al sepulcro(P),
Como se recogen las gavillas a su tiempo.
27 -»Esto lo hemos examinado, y así es;
Óyelo, y conócelo para tu bien[f]».

17 “Blessed is the one whom God corrects;(A)
so do not despise the discipline(B) of the Almighty.[a](C)
18 For he wounds, but he also binds up;(D)
he injures, but his hands also heal.(E)
19 From six calamities he will rescue(F) you;
in seven no harm will touch you.(G)
20 In famine(H) he will deliver you from death,
and in battle from the stroke of the sword.(I)
21 You will be protected from the lash of the tongue,(J)
and need not fear(K) when destruction comes.(L)
22 You will laugh(M) at destruction and famine,(N)
and need not fear the wild animals.(O)
23 For you will have a covenant(P) with the stones(Q) of the field,
and the wild animals will be at peace with you.(R)
24 You will know that your tent is secure;(S)
you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.(T)
25 You will know that your children will be many,(U)
and your descendants like the grass of the earth.(V)
26 You will come to the grave in full vigor,(W)
like sheaves gathered in season.(X)
