10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes(A) and gave him twice as much as he had before.(B) 11 All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before(C) came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him,(D) and each one gave him a piece of silver[a] and a gold ring.
12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. 13 And he also had seven sons and three daughters. 14 The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch. 15 Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.
16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. 17 And so Job died, an old man and full of years.(E)

11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.
14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.
15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.
17 So Job died, being old and full of days.

8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming(A) is near.(B) 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters,(C) or you will be judged. The Judge(D) is standing at the door!(E)
10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets(F) who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed(G) those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance(H) and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.(I) The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.(J)
12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.(K)
The Prayer of Faith
13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.(L) Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.(M) 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders(N) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil(O) in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith(P) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins(Q) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.(R) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.(S)
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are.(T) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.(U) 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.(V)
19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth(W) and someone should bring that person back,(X) 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save(Y) them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.(Z)

8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
