New International Reader's Version
The Third Speech of Bildad
25 Then Bildad the Shuhite replied,
2 “God is King. He should be feared.
He establishes peace in the highest parts of heaven.
3 Can anyone count his troops?
Is there anyone his light doesn’t shine on?
4 How can human beings be right with God?
How can mere people really be pure?
5 Even the moon isn’t bright
and the stars aren’t pure in God’s eyes.
6 So how about human beings? They are like maggots.
How about mere people? They are like worms.”

25 Bildad de Súaj respondió así:
2 Dios tiene un poder temible,
impone la paz en las alturas.
3 ¿Quién puede enumerar sus tropas?
¿Sobre quién no se alza su luz?
4 ¿Puede ser justo el mortal ante Dios,
o puro el que ha nacido de mujer?
5 ¡Si hasta la luna carece de brillo
y los astros no son puros a sus ojos!
6 ¡Cuánto menos el mortal,
un gusano, el ser humano,
que sólo es una larva!

Bildad
25 Then Bildad the Shuhite(A) replied:
2 “Dominion and awe belong to God;(B)
he establishes order in the heights of heaven.(C)
3 Can his forces be numbered?
On whom does his light not rise?(D)
4 How then can a mortal be righteous before God?
How can one born of woman be pure?(E)
5 If even the moon(F) is not bright
and the stars are not pure in his eyes,(G)
6 how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot—
a human being,(H) who is only a worm!”(I)
