Jeremiah 49:23-27
1599 Geneva Bible
23 ¶ Unto [a]Damascus he saith, Hamath is confounded and Arpad, for they have heard evil tidings, and they are faint hearted as one on the fearful sea that can not rest:
24 Damascus is discouraged, and turneth herself to flight, [b]and fear hath seized her: anguish and sorrows have taken her as a woman in travail.
25 How is the glorious [c]city not reserved, the city of my joy?
26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord of hosts.
27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, which shall consume the palaces of [d]Ben-Hadad.
