¹² Jeremiah set out from Jerusalem to go to ^(A)the land of Benjamin ^(B)to receive his portion there ^(C)among the people.

1 The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one ^(A)of the priests who were in ^(B)Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,

²² Abstain from every form of evil.

²³ When they ^(A)persecute you in one town, ^(B)flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel ^(C)before the Son of Man comes.

⁸ Then Hanamel my cousin came to me in ^(A)the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the Lord, and said to me, ‘Buy my field that is at ^(B)Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

⁹ “And I bought the field at ^(C)Anathoth from Hanamel my cousin, and ^(D)weighed out the money to him, seventeen shekels of silver.

¹¹ But I said, “Should such a man as I run away? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live?^[a] I will not go in.”

⁶⁰ and from the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon,^[a] Geba with its pasturelands, Alemeth with its pasturelands, and Anathoth with its pasturelands. All their cities throughout their clans were thirteen.

The Lord Speaks to Elijah

⁹ There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, ^(A)the word of the Lord came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

³ Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to ^(A)Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

¹⁷ then out of the tribe of Benjamin, ^(A)Gibeon with its pasturelands, Geba with its pasturelands, ¹⁸ Anathoth with its pasturelands, and Almon with its pasturelands—four cities.
