James 2:12-17
English Standard Version
12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under (A)the law of liberty. 13 For (B)judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith (C)but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 (D)If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 (E)and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[a] is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged(A) by the law that gives freedom,(B) 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.(C) Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Faith and Deeds
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?(D) Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.(E) 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?(F) 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.(G)
