James 1:12-18
King James Version
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

New King James Version
Loving God Under Trials
12 (A)Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive (B)the crown of life (C)which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, (D)when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, (E)brings forth death.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 (F)Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, (G)with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 (H)Of His own will He brought us forth by the (I)word of truth, (J)that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
