Isaiah 51:4-6

⁴^(A)“Give attention to me, my people,
    and give ear to me, my nation;
^(B)for a law^[a] will go out from me,
    and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples.
⁵^(C)My righteousness draws near,
    my salvation has gone out,
    and my arms will judge the peoples;
^(D)the coastlands hope for me,
    and for my arm they wait.
⁶^(E)Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
    and look at the earth beneath;
^(F)for the heavens vanish like smoke,
    the earth will wear out like a garment,
    and they who dwell in it will die in like manner;^[b]
^(G)but my salvation will be forever,
    and my righteousness will never be dismayed.

⁴Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
    mightier than the waves of the sea,

⁵Your ^(L)decrees are very trustworthy;
^(M)holiness befits your house,
O Lord, forevermore.

²⁰But you, beloved, ^(A)building yourselves up in your most holy faith and ^(B)praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹^(C)keep yourselves in the love of God, ^(D)waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. ²²And have mercy on those who doubt; ²³save others by ^(E)snatching them out of ^(F)the fire; to others show mercy ^(G)with fear, hating even ^(H)the garment^[a] stained by the flesh.
