Isaiah 23:5-11
New American Standard Bible
5 When the report reaches Egypt,
They will be in (A)anguish over the report of Tyre.
6 Pass over to (B)Tarshish;
Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland.
7 Is this your (C)jubilant city,
Whose origin is from antiquity,
Whose feet used to bring her to [a]colonize distant places?
8 Who has planned this against Tyre, (D)the bestower of crowns,
Whose merchants were princes, whose traders were the honored of the earth?
9 (E)The Lord of armies has planned it, to (F)defile the pride of all beauty,
To despise all the (G)honored of the earth.
10 [b]Overflow your land like the Nile, you daughter of Tarshish,
There is no more [c]restraint.
11 He has (H)stretched His hand out (I)over the sea,
He has (J)made the kingdoms tremble;
The Lord has given a command concerning Canaan to (K)demolish its strongholds.

New King James Version
5 (A)When the report reaches Egypt,
They also will be in agony at the report of Tyre.
6 Cross over to Tarshish;
Wail, you inhabitants of the coastland!
7 Is this your (B)joyous city,
Whose antiquity is from ancient days,
Whose feet carried her far off to dwell?
8 Who has taken this counsel against Tyre, (C)the crowning city,
Whose merchants are princes,
Whose traders are the honorable of the earth?
9 The Lord of hosts has (D)purposed it,
To [a]bring to dishonor the (E)pride of all glory,
To bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.
10 Overflow through your land like [b]the River,
O daughter of Tarshish;
There is no more [c]strength.
11 He stretched out His hand over the sea,
He shook the kingdoms;
The Lord has given a commandment (F)against Canaan
To destroy its strongholds.
