²² but have returned and eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which He said to you, “Eat no bread and drink no water”; your body shall not come to the grave of your fathers.’”

²⁰ He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years; and he departed ^[a](A)with no one’s regret, and they buried him in the city of David, ^(B)but not in the tombs of the kings.

^25 (A)When they had departed from him (for they left him very sick), his own servants conspired against him because of the blood of the ^[a]son of Jehoiada the priest, and murdered him on his bed. So he died, and they buried him in the city of David, but they did not bury him in the tombs of the kings.

^27 (A)So Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Jerusalem, for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of ^(B)Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
