⁸ do not harden your hearts
    as in the rebellion,^[a]
    on the day of testing^[b] in the wilderness.
⁹ There your fathers put Me to the test,
    though they saw My works for forty years.
¹⁰ Therefore I was provoked by this generation,
    and I said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
        and they have not known My ways.’
