Ang Pagsamba Rito sa Lupa at Doon sa Langit
9 May mga tuntunin ang unang kasunduan tungkol sa pagsamba at may sambahang gawa ng tao. 2 Itong Toldang Sambahan na ginawa nila ay may dalawang silid. Ang unang silid ay ang Banal na Lugar, kung saan naroon ang ilawan, ang mesa, at ang tinapay na handog sa Dios. 3 Ang ikalawang silid ay ang Pinakabanal na Lugar. 4 Naroon ang gintong altar na pinagsusunugan ng insenso at ang Kahon ng Kasunduan na nababalutan ng ginto. Nasa loob ng Kahon ang lalagyang ginto na may lamang “manna”, ang tungkod ni Aaron na nagkasibol, at ang malapad na mga bato kung saan nakaukit ang mga utos ng Dios. 5 Sa ibabaw ng Kahon ay may mga kerubin na nagpapahiwatig ng presensya ng Dios, at nilililiman ng mga pakpak nito ang lugar na iyon kung saan pinapatawad ng Dios ang mga kasalanan ng tao. Ngunit hindi namin ito maipapaliwanag nang detalyado sa ngayon.
6 Ganoon ang pagkakaayos sa loob ng Toldang Sambahan. At araw-araw pumapasok ang mga pari sa unang silid ng Tolda para gampanan ang tungkulin nila. 7 Ngunit ang punong pari lang ang nakakapasok sa Pinakabanal na Lugar at minsan lang sa isang taon. At sa tuwing papasok siya rito, naghahandog siya ng dugo para sa sarili niyang mga kasalanan at sa mga kasalanang nagawa ng mga tao nang hindi nila nalalaman. 8 Sa ginagawa nilang ito, ipinapakita ng Banal na Espiritu na hindi makakapasok sa Pinakabanal na Lugar ang karaniwang tao hanggaʼt naroon pa ang dating Toldang Sambahan. 9 Ang Toldang iyon ay larawan lang ng kasalukuyang panahon. Sapagkat ang mga handog at kaloob na iniaalay doon ng mga tao ay hindi nakapaglilinis ng kanilang konsensya. 10 Ang mga ginagawa nilang itoʼy nauukol lang sa mga pagkain at inumin at mga seremonya ng paglilinis. Mga tuntuning panlabas lamang ito na ipinapatupad hanggang sa dumating ang bagong pamamaraan ng Dios.
11 Ngunit dumating na si Cristo na punong pari ng bagong pamamaraan na higit na mabuti kaysa sa dati. Pumasok siya sa mas dakila at mas ganap na Tolda na hindi gawa ng tao, at wala sa mundong ito. 12 Minsan lang pumasok si Cristo sa Pinakabanal na Lugar. At hindi dugo ng kambing o ng guya[a] ang dala niya kundi ang sarili niyang dugo. At sa pamamagitan ng kanyang dugo, tinubos niya tayo sa mga kasalanan natin magpakailanman. 13 Ayon sa Kautusan, kung itinuturing na marumi ang isang tao, kailangan siyang wisikan ng dugo ng kambing at toro, at ng abo ng guya para maging malinis. 14 Kung nakakalinis ang mga ito, di lalo na ang dugo ni Cristo. Sa pamamagitan ng walang hanggang Banal na Espiritu, inialay ni Cristo ang sarili niya bilang handog na walang kapintasan sa Dios. Ang dugo niya ang lilinis sa ating pusoʼt isipan para matalikuran natin ang mga gawaing walang kabuluhan at paglingkuran ang Dios na buhay.
15 Kaya si Cristo ang ginawang tagapamagitan sa atin at sa Dios sa bagong kasunduan. Sapagkat sa pamamagitan ng kanyang kamatayan, tinubos niya ang mga taong lumabag sa unang kasunduan. Dahil dito, matatanggap ng mga tinawag ng Dios ang walang hanggang pagpapala na ipinangako niya. 16 Maihahalintulad ito sa isang huling testamento na kailangang mapatunayan na namatay na ang gumawa nito, 17 dahil wala itong bisa habang nabubuhay pa siya. Nagkakabisa lang ang isang testamento kapag namatay na ang gumawa nito. 18 Kaya maging ang unang kasunduan ay kinailangang pagtibayin sa pamamagitan ng dugo. 19 Sapagkat nang ipahayag ni Moises ang Kautusan sa mga tao, kumuha siya ng dugo ng mga guyaʼt kambing, at hinaluan ng tubig. Isinawsaw niya rito ang balahibo ng tupa na kinulayan ng pula na nakatali sa sanga ng isopo. Pagkatapos, winisikan niya ang aklat ng Kautusan at ang mga tao. 20 At sinabi niya: “Ito ang dugong nagpapatibay sa kasunduang ibinigay at ipinatutupad sa inyo ng Dios.”[b] 21 Winisikan din niya ng dugo ang Toldang Sambahan at ang lahat ng bagay doon na ginagamit sa pagsamba. 22 Ayon sa Kautusan, nililinis sa pamamagitan ng dugo ang halos lahat ng bagay na ginagamit sa pagsamba. At kung walang pagbubuhos ng dugo bilang handog sa Dios, wala ring kapatawaran ng mga kasalanan.
23 Kaya kailangang linisin sa pamamagitan ng ganitong paraan ng paghahandog ang mga bagay sa sambahang ito na larawan lang ng mga bagay na nasa langit. Pero nangangailangan ng mas mabuting handog ang mga bagay na nasa langit. 24 Sapagkat hindi pumasok si Cristo sa isang banal na lugar na gawa ng tao at larawan lang ng mga bagay na nasa langit, kundi sa langit mismo. Siya ngayon ay namamagitan para sa atin sa harap ng Dios. 25 Ang punong pari ng mga Judio ay pumapasok sa Pinakabanal na Lugar bawat taon, na may dalang dugo ng hayop. Ngunit si Cristo ay minsan lamang naghandog ng kanyang sarili, at hindi na niya ito inulit-ulit pa. 26 Dahil kung kailangang ulit-ulitin, maraming beses sanang nagdusa si Cristo mula pa nang likhain ang mundo. Pero minsan lamang siya naparito sa mundo para alisin ang mga kasalanan natin sa pamamagitan ng paghahandog ng kanyang sarili. Ginawa niya ito nitong mga huling araw. 27 Itinakda sa mga tao ang mamatay nang minsan at pagkatapos nitoʼy ang paghuhukom ng Dios. 28 Ganoon din naman, minsan lang namatay si Cristo nang inihandog niya ang kanyang sarili para alisin ang kasalanan ng mga tao. At muli siyang babalik dito sa mundo, hindi na para akuing muli ang kasalanan ng mga tao, kundi para iligtas ang mga taong naghihintay sa kanya.

The Earthly Ministry of the Old Covenant
9 Now[a] the first covenant had regulations for worship and the earthly sanctuary. 2 For a tent was prepared, the first one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the presentation of the loaves, which is called the holy place. 3 And after the second curtain was a tent called the holy of holies, 4 containing the golden incense altar and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which were a golden jar containing the manna and the rod of Aaron that budded and the tablets of the covenant. 5 And above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat, about which it is not now possible to speak in detail.
6 Now these things having been prepared in this way, the priests enter into the first tent continually[b] as they[c] accomplish their service, 7 but only the high priest enters into the second tent once a year, not without blood, which he offers on behalf of himself and the sins of the people committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit was making this clear, that the way into the holy place was not yet revealed, while[d] the first tent was still in existence, 9 which was a symbol for the present time, in which both the gifts and sacrifices which were offered were not able to perfect the worshiper with respect to the conscience, 10 concerning instead only food and drink and different washings, regulations of outward things imposed until the time of setting things right.
The Heavenly Ministry of the New Covenant
11 But Christ has arrived as a high priest of the good things to come. Through the greater and more perfect tent not made by hands, that is, not of this creation, 12 and not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered once for all into the most holy place, obtaining eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled sanctify them for the ritual purity of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And because of this, he is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that, because[e] a death has taken place for the redemption of transgressions committed during the first covenant, those who are the called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. 16 For where there is a will, it is a necessity for the death of the one who made the will to be established. 17 For a will is in force concerning those who are dead, since it is never in force when the one who made the will is alive. 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was ratified without blood. 19 For when[f] every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves[g] with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the scroll itself and all the people, 20 saying,
“This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded for you.”[h]
21 And likewise he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the utensils of service with the blood. 22 Indeed, nearly everything is purified with blood according to the law, and apart from the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
23 Therefore it was necessary for the sketches of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves to be purified with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf, 25 and not in order that he can offer himself many times, as the high priest enters into the sanctuary year by year[i] with blood not his own, 26 since it would have been necessary for him to suffer many times from the foundation of the world, but now he has appeared once at the end of the ages for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And just as[j] it is destined for people to die once, and after this, judgment, 28 thus also Christ, having been offered once in order to bear the sins of many, will appear for the second time without reference to sin to those who eagerly await him for salvation.

9 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
