⁵Ang liwanag ay tinawag niyang Araw, at ang dilim naman ay tinawag na Gabi. Lumipas ang gabi, at sumapit ang umaga—iyon ang unang araw.

⁶Sinabi^(A) ng Diyos: “Magkaroon ng kalawakang maghahati sa tubig upang ito'y magkahiwalay!” ⁷At nangyari ito. Ginawa ng Diyos na pumagitan ang kalawakan sa tubig na nasa itaas at sa tubig na nasa ibaba.

⁵And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

⁶And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

⁷And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

⁶And God said,^(D) “Let there be a vault^(E) between the waters^(F) to separate water from water.” ⁷So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it.^(G) And it was so.^(H)
