The Voice
8 He then sent out a dove to see if the waters had subsided from the surface of the land. 9 But the dove found no place to land safely, and it returned to the ark. The waters were still covering the surface of the whole earth. So Noah put out his hand and brought the dove back into the ark. 10 Noah waited another seven days, and then he sent the dove out again from the ark.

New International Version
8 Then he sent out a dove(A) to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.
