And when the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph spoke to the household of Pharaoh, saying, (A)“If now I have found favor in your eyes, please speak in the ears of Pharaoh, saying, ‘My father made me swear, saying, “I am about to die: in my tomb (B)that I hewed out for myself in the land of Canaan, there shall you bury me.” Now therefore, let me please go up and bury my father. Then I will return.’” And Pharaoh answered, “Go up, and bury your father, as he made you swear.”

When the days of mourning(A) had passed, Joseph said to Pharaoh’s court,(B) “If I have found favor in your eyes,(C) speak to Pharaoh for me. Tell him, ‘My father made me swear an oath(D) and said, “I am about to die;(E) bury me in the tomb I dug for myself(F) in the land of Canaan.”(G) Now let me go up and bury my father;(H) then I will return.’”

Pharaoh said, “Go up and bury your father, as he made you swear to do.”

My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.

And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.
