Genesis 49:17-19

¹⁷“Dan shall be a serpent on the way, an adder by the path, biting the horse heels so that his rider shall fall backward.

¹⁸“O LORD, I have waited for Your salvation!

¹⁹“Gad. An army of men shall overcome him; but he shall overcome in the end.

Genesis 49:17-19

New International Version

¹⁷Dan^(A) will be a snake by the roadside,
a viper along the path,^(B)
that bites the horse’s heels^(C)
so that its rider tumbles backward.

¹⁸“I look for your deliverance,^(D) Lord.^(E)

¹⁹“Gad^[a]^(F) will be attacked by a band of raiders,
but he will attack them at their heels.^(G)

Genesis 49:19 Gad sounds like the Hebrew for attack and also for band of raiders.
