¹⁷ Cain ^[a]had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and Cain built a city, and named the city Enoch, after the name of his son.

⁴ And they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top ^(A)will reach into heaven, and let’s make ^(B)a name for ourselves; otherwise we ^(C)will be scattered abroad over the face of all the earth.” ⁵ Now ^(D)the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the ^[a]men had built.
