¹⁶ To the woman he said,

¹⁹ For I have ^(A)chosen^[a] him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”

²⁰ So when the decree made by the king is proclaimed throughout all his kingdom, for it is vast, ^(A)all women will give honor to their husbands, high and low alike.”

²² He sent letters to all the royal provinces, ^(A)to every province in its own script and to every people in its own language, that every man be master in his own household and speak according to the language of his people.

¹⁰ To the married ^(A)I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): ^(B)the wife should not separate from her husband

³ But I want you to understand that ^(A)the head of every man is Christ, ^(B)the head of a wife^[a] is her husband,^[b] and ^(C)the head of Christ is God.

⁷ For a man ought not to cover his head, since ^(A)he is the image and glory of God, but ^(B)woman is the glory of man. ⁸ For ^(C)man was not made from woman, but woman from man. ⁹ Neither was man created for woman, but ^(D)woman for man.
