Genesis 2:18-25

18 Also the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be himself alone: I will make him an help [a]meet for him.
19 So the Lord God formed of the earth every beast of the field, and every fowl of the heaven, and brought them unto the [b]man to see how he would call them: for howsoever the man named the living creature, so was the name thereof.
20 The man therefore gave names unto all cattle, and to the fowl of the heaven, and to every beast of the field: but for Adam found he not an helper meet for him.
21 ¶ Therefore the Lord God caused an heavy sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in stead thereof.
22 And the rib which the Lord God had taken from the man, [c]made he a [d]woman, and brought her to the man.
23 Then the man said, (A)This now is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called [e]woman, because she was taken out of the man.
24 (B)Therefore shall man leave [f]his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not [g]ashamed.
