30 Now Lot went up from Zoar with his two daughters and (A)stayed in the [a]mountains, because he was afraid to stay in Zoar; and he stayed in a cave, he and his two daughters. 31 Then the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man [b]on earth to [c](B)have relations with us according to the custom of all the earth. 32 Come, (C)let’s make our father drink wine, and let’s sleep with him so that we may keep [d]our family alive through our father.”

Lot and His Daughters
30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar(A) and settled in the mountains,(B) for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line(C) through our father.”(D)

30 Later on, Lot and his two daughters abandoned Zoar and settled in the hills because Lot was afraid to live in Zoar. He lived there in a cave, along with his two daughters. 31 One day the firstborn told the younger one, “Our father is old, and there’s no man in the land to have sex with us,[a] as everybody else throughout all the earth does. 32 Come on! Let’s make our father drink wine, and then we’ll have sex with him so we can preserve our father’s lineage.”
