22 Dopo queste cose DIO mise alla prova Abrahamo e gli disse: «Abrahamo!». Egli rispose: «Eccomi».
2 E DIO disse: «Prendi ora tuo figlio, il tuo unico figlio, colui che tu ami, Isacco, va' nel paese di Moriah e là offrilo in olocausto sopra uno dei monti che io ti dirò».
3 Così Abrahamo si alzò al mattino presto, mise il basto al suo asino, prese con sé due dei suoi servi e Isacco suo figlio e spaccò della legna per l'olocausto; poi partì per andare al luogo che DIO gli aveva detto.
4 Il terzo giorno Abrahamo alzò gli occhi e vide da lontano il luogo.
5 Allora Abrahamo disse ai suoi servi: «Rimanete qui con l'asino; io e il ragazzo andremo fin là e adoreremo; poi ritorneremo da voi».
6 Così Abrahamo prese la legna per l'olocausto e la caricò su Isacco suo figlio; poi prese in mano sua il fuoco e il coltello e s'incamminarono tutt'e due insieme.
7 E Isacco parlò a suo padre Abrahamo e disse: «Padre mio!». Abrahamo rispose: «Eccomi, figlio mio». E Isacco disse: «Ecco il fuoco e la legna; ma dov'è l'agnello per l'olocausto?».
8 Abrahamo rispose: «Figlio mio, DIO provvederà egli stesso l'agnello per l'olocausto». E proseguirono tutt'e due insieme.
9 Così giunsero al luogo che DIO gli aveva indicato, e là Abrahamo edificò l'altare e vi accomodò la legna; poi legò Isacco suo figlio e lo depose sull'altare sopra la legna.
10 Abrahamo quindi stese la mano e prese il coltello per uccidere suo figlio.
11 Ma l'Angelo dell'Eterno lo chiamò dal cielo e disse: «Abrahamo, Abrahamo!». Egli rispose: «Eccomi».
12 L'Angelo disse: «Non stendere la tua mano contro il ragazzo e non gli fare alcun male; ora infatti so che tu temi Dio, poiché non mi hai rifiutato tuo figlio, l'unico tuo figliuolo».
13 Allora Abrahamo alzò gli occhi e guardò; ed ecco dietro di lui un montone, preso per le corna in un cespuglio. Così Abrahamo andò, prese il montone e l'offerse in olocausto invece di suo figlio.
14 E Abrahamo chiamò quel luogo Jehovah Jireh. Per questo si dice fino al giorno d'oggi: «Al monte dell'Eterno sarà provveduto».
15 L'Angelo dell'Eterno chiamò dal cielo Abrahamo una seconda volta e disse:
16 «Io giuro per me stesso, dice l'Eterno, poiché tu hai fatto questo e non hai risparmiato tuo figlio, l'unico tuo figlio,
17 io certo ti benedirò grandemente e moltiplicherò la tua discendenza come le stelle del cielo e come la sabbia che è sul lido del mare; e la tua discendenza possederà la porta dei suoi nemici.
18 E tutte le nazioni della terra saranno benedette nella tua discendenza, perché tu hai ubbidito alla mia voce».
19 Poi Abrahamo tornò dai suoi servi; essi si alzarono e andarono insieme a Beer-Sceba. E Abrahamo dimorò a Beer-Sceba.
20 Dopo queste cose fu riferito ad Abrahamo questo: «Ecco, Milkaha ha partorito anch'ella dei figli a Nahor, tuo fratello:
21 Uz, suo primogenito, Buz suo fratello, Kemuel padre di Aram,
22 Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaf e Bethuel».
23 E Bethuel generò Rebecca. Questi otto figli Milkah partorì a Nahor, fratello di Abrahamo.
24 La sua concubina, che si chiamava Reumah, partorì anch'ella Tebah, Gaham, Tahash e Maakah.

22 这些事以后，上帝要考验亚伯拉罕，就呼唤他：“亚伯拉罕！”他回答说：“我在这里。” 2 上帝说：“带着你的儿子，你的独生子，你疼爱的以撒前往摩利亚，在我指示你的山上把他献为燔祭。” 3 亚伯拉罕清早起来，准备好驴，劈好献燔祭用的柴，带着两个仆人和儿子以撒动身前往上帝指示他的地方。 4 到了第三天，亚伯拉罕远远看见那地方， 5 就对仆人说：“你们和驴在这里等着，我和孩子到那边敬拜上帝，然后便回来。”
6 于是，亚伯拉罕把献燔祭用的柴放在儿子以撒肩上，自己手里拿着火种和刀。父子二人一同向前走。 7 以撒说：“父亲。”亚伯拉罕说：“孩子，什么事？”以撒说：“你看，火种和柴都有了，但献燔祭用的羊羔在哪里呢？” 8 亚伯拉罕说：“孩子，上帝自己会预备献燔祭的羊羔。”二人就继续向前走。
9 他们到了上帝指示的地方，亚伯拉罕就筑起祭坛，把柴摆在上面，然后把以撒捆起来放在柴上。 10 亚伯拉罕伸手拿起刀来，要杀他的儿子。 11 耶和华的天使从天上呼唤他说：“亚伯拉罕！亚伯拉罕！”他回答说：“我在这里。” 12 天使说：“不要动孩子，不可伤害他！现在我知道你敬畏上帝，因为你不惜献上你的儿子——你的独生子。” 13 这时亚伯拉罕抬起头来，突然看见有一只公绵羊两角卡在稠密的树丛中，于是把羊取来代替他的儿子献为燔祭。 14 亚伯拉罕称那地方为“耶和华以勒”[a]。直到今天人们还说：“在耶和华的山上必有预备。”
15 耶和华的天使再次从天上呼唤亚伯拉罕， 16 对他说：“耶和华说，‘你既然愿意把你的儿子，你的独生子献给我，我凭自己向你起誓， 17 我必赐福给你，使你的后裔多如天上的星和海边的沙。你的后裔必占领仇敌的城池， 18 天下万国必因你的后裔而蒙福，因为你听从了我的话。’” 19 于是，亚伯拉罕回到仆人等候的地方，他们一同返回亚伯拉罕居住的别示巴。
拿鹤的后代

22 And it happened that after these things, God tested Abraham. And he said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 2 And he said, “Take your son, your only child, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains where[a] I will tell you.” 3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning and saddled his donkey. And he took two of his servants with him, and Isaac his son. And he chopped wood for a burnt offering. And he got up and went to the place which God had told him. 4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and he saw the place at a distance. 5 And Abraham said to his servants, “You stay here with the donkey, and I and the boy will go up there. We will worship, then we will return to you.” 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and placed it on Isaac his son. And he took the fire in his hand and the knife, and the two of them went together. 7 And Isaac said to Abraham his father, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8 And Abraham said, “God will provide[b] the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went together.
9 And they came to the place that God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood. Then he bound Isaac his son and placed him on the altar atop the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. 11 And the angel of Yahweh called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham! Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12 And he said, “Do not stretch out your hand against the boy; do not do anything to him. For now I know that you are one who fears[c] God, since you have not withheld your son, your only child, from me.” 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked. And behold, a ram was caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place “Yahweh will provide,”[d] for which reason[e] it is said today, “on the mountain of Yahweh it shall be provided.”[f] 15 And the angel of Yahweh called to Abraham a second time from heaven. 16 And he said, “I swear by myself, declares Yahweh, that because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only child, 17 that I will certainly bless you and greatly multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the shore of the sea. And your offspring will take possession of the gate of his enemies. 18 All the nations of the earth will be blessed through your offspring, because you have listened to my voice.” 19 And Abraham returned to his servants, and they got up and went together to Beersheba. And Abraham lived in Beersheba.
20 And it happened that after these things, it was told to Abraham, “Look, Milcah has also borne children to your brother Nahor: 21 Uz his firstborn and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram, 22 and Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.” 23 (Now, Bethuel fathered Rebekah). These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, the brother of Abraham. 24 And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.

God Tests Abraham
22 After these things God tested Abraham’s faith. God said to him, “Abraham!”
And he answered, “Here I am.”
2 Then God said, “Take your only son, Isaac, the son you love. Go to the land of Moriah. There kill him and offer him as a whole burnt offering. Do this on one of the mountains there. I will tell you which one.”
3 Early in the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took Isaac and two servants with him. He cut the wood for the sacrifice. Then they went to the place God had told them to go. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey. My son and I will go over there and worship. Then we will come back to you.”
6 Abraham took the wood for the sacrifice and gave it to his son to carry. Abraham took the knife and the fire. So Abraham and his son went on together.
7 Isaac said to his father Abraham, “Father!”
Abraham answered, “Yes, my son.”
Isaac said, “We have the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb we will burn as a sacrifice?”
8 Abraham answered, “God will give us the lamb for the sacrifice, my son.”
So Abraham and his son went on together. 9 They came to the place God had told him about. There, Abraham built an altar. He laid the wood on it. Then he tied up his son Isaac. And he laid Isaac on the wood on the altar. 10 Then Abraham took his knife and was about to kill his son.
11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven. The angel said, “Abraham! Abraham!”
Abraham answered, “Yes.”
12 The angel said, “Don’t kill your son or hurt him in any way. Now I can see that you respect God. I see that you have not kept your son, your only son, from me.”
13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a male sheep. Its horns were caught in a bush. So Abraham went and took the sheep and killed it. He offered it as a whole burnt offering to God. Abraham’s son was saved. 14 So Abraham named that place The Lord Gives. Even today people say, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be given.”
15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time. 16 The angel said, “The Lord says, ‘You did not keep back your son, your only son, from me. Because you did this, I make you this promise by my own name: 17 I will surely bless you and give you many descendants. They will be as many as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. And they will capture the cities of their enemies. 18 Through your descendants all the nations on the earth will be blessed. This is because you obeyed me.’”
19 Then Abraham returned to his servants. They all traveled back to Beersheba, and Abraham stayed there.
20 After these things happened, someone told Abraham: “Your brother Nahor and his wife Milcah have children now. 21 The first son is Uz. The second son is Buz. The third son is Kemuel (the father of Aram). 22 Then there are Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.” 23 Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milcah was the mother of these eight sons, and Nahor was the father. Nahor was Abraham’s brother. 24 Also Nahor had four other sons by his slave woman Reumah. Their names were Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maacah.
