24 Jozef zei tegen zijn familie: "Binnenkort zal ik sterven. Ik weet zeker dat God voor jullie zal zorgen. Hij zal jullie uit dit land halen. Dan zal Hij jullie naar het land brengen dat Hij aan Abraham, Izaäk en Jakob heeft beloofd. 25 Zweer dat jullie mijn lichaam hier vandaan meenemen als Hij jullie hier vandaan haalt." 26 Jozef stierf toen hij 110 jaar was. De mensen balsemden hem en legden hem in een kist in Egypte.

24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die.(A) But God will surely come to your aid(B) and take you up out of this land to the land(C) he promised on oath to Abraham,(D) Isaac(E) and Jacob.”(F) 25 And Joseph made the Israelites swear an oath(G) and said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones(H) up from this place.”(I)
26 So Joseph died(J) at the age of a hundred and ten.(K) And after they embalmed him,(L) he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
