²³And the adam said, This is now etzem of my etzem, and basar of my basar; she shall be called Isha, because she was taken out of Ish.

²⁴Therefore shall an ish leave his av and his em, and shall cleave unto his isha: and they shall be basar echad.

Genesis 2:23-24

²³The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;^(A)
she shall be called^(B) ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.^(C)”

²⁴That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united^(D) to his wife, and they become one flesh.^(E)

²³And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
