Genesis 12:6-9
New King James Version
6 Abram (A)passed through the land to the place of Shechem, (B)as far as [a]the terebinth tree of Moreh. (C)And the Canaanites were then in the land.
7 (D)Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, (E)“To your [b]descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an (F)altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and (G)called on the name of the Lord. 9 So Abram journeyed, (H)going on still toward the [c]South.

6 Abram (A)passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to (B)the oak[a] of (C)Moreh. At that time (D)the Canaanites were in the land. 7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, (E)“To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 From there he moved to the hill country on the east of (F)Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord. 9 And Abram journeyed on, still going toward the Negeb.
