Genesis 12:6-9

⁶ Abram passed through the land as far as the site of ^(A)Shechem, to the ^[a]oak of Moreh. Now the Canaanites were in the land at that time. ⁷ And the Lord ^(B)appeared to Abram and said, “^(C)To your ^[b]descendants I will give this land.” So he built ^(D)an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him. ⁸ Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent with ^(E)Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and ^(F)called upon the name of the Lord. ⁹ Then Abram journeyed on, continuing toward ^(G)the ^[c]Negev.
