Genesis 8:20-22
New International Version
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord(A) and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean(B) birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings(C) on it. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma(D) and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground(E) because of humans, even though[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood.(F) And never again will I destroy(G) all living creatures,(H) as I have done.

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant(A) I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:(B) 13 I have set my rainbow(C) in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow(D) appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant(E) between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.(F) 16 Whenever the rainbow(G) appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant(H) between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant(I) I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
