13 Abram remonta d'Égypte vers le midi, lui, sa femme, et tout ce qui lui appartenait, et Lot avec lui.
2 Abram était très riche en troupeaux, en argent et en or.
3 Il dirigea ses marches du midi jusqu'à Béthel, jusqu'au lieu où était sa tente au commencement, entre Béthel et Aï,
4 au lieu où était l'autel qu'il avait fait précédemment. Et là, Abram invoqua le nom de l'Éternel.
5 Lot, qui voyageait avec Abram, avait aussi des brebis, des boeufs et des tentes.
6 Et la contrée était insuffisante pour qu'ils demeurassent ensemble, car leurs biens étaient si considérables qu'ils ne pouvaient demeurer ensemble.
7 Il y eut querelle entre les bergers des troupeaux d'Abram et les bergers des troupeaux de Lot. Les Cananéens et les Phérésiens habitaient alors dans le pays.
8 Abram dit à Lot: Qu'il n'y ait point, je te prie, de dispute entre moi et toi, ni entre mes bergers et tes bergers; car nous sommes frères.
9 Tout le pays n'est-il pas devant toi? Sépare-toi donc de moi: si tu vas à gauche, j'irai à droite; si tu vas à droite, j'irai à gauche.
10 Lot leva les yeux, et vit toute la plaine du Jourdain, qui était entièrement arrosée. Avant que l'Éternel eût détruit Sodome et Gomorrhe, c'était, jusqu'à Tsoar, comme un jardin de l'Éternel, comme le pays d'Égypte.
11 Lot choisit pour lui toute la plaine du Jourdain, et il s'avança vers l'orient. C'est ainsi qu'ils se séparèrent l'un de l'autre.
12 Abram habita dans le pays de Canaan; et Lot habita dans les villes de la plaine, et dressa ses tentes jusqu'à Sodome.
13 Les gens de Sodome étaient méchants, et de grands pécheurs contre l'Éternel.
14 L'Éternel dit à Abram, après que Lot se fut séparé de lui: Lève les yeux, et, du lieu où tu es, regarde vers le nord et le midi, vers l'orient et l'occident;
15 car tout le pays que tu vois, je le donnerai à toi et à ta postérité pour toujours.
16 Je rendrai ta postérité comme la poussière de la terre, en sorte que, si quelqu'un peut compter la poussière de la terre, ta postérité aussi sera comptée.
17 Lève-toi, parcours le pays dans sa longueur et dans sa largeur; car je te le donnerai.
18 Abram leva ses tentes, et vint habiter parmi les chênes de Mamré, qui sont près d'Hébron. Et il bâtit là un autel à l'Éternel.

Возвращение Аврама в Ханаан
13 Аврам, собрав всё своё имущество, вместе с женой отправился из Египта через пустыню Негев. С ними был также и Лот. 2 Аврам был в то время очень богат, у него было много скота, серебра и золота.
3 Продолжив путь, Аврам вышел из пустыни Негев и отправился обратно в Вефиль. Он пошёл на то самое место между Вефилем и Гаем[a], где раньше ставил стан вместе со своей семьёй. 4 Там находился алтарь, ранее построенный Аврамом, и там он поклонился Господу.
Аврам и Лот расстаются
5 Всё это время Лот находился вместе с Аврамом, и у него тоже было много скота и шатров. 6 У них обоих было так много скота, что земля не могла прокормить их обоих. 7 (В то время на той же земле жили хананеи и ферезеи).
Однажды пастухи Аврама и пастухи Лота стали спорить между собой. 8 Узнав об этом, Аврам сказал Лоту: «Не подобает нам спорить друг с другом, и не подобает твоим людям спорить с моими людьми, так как все мы братья. 9 Давай же расстанемся. Выбери себе место, какое захочешь, и если ты пойдёшь налево, то я пойду направо, а если ты пойдёшь направо, то я пойду налево».
10 Лот посмотрел и увидел долину Иордан и что в ней много воды. (Это произошло до того, как Господь разрушил Содом и Гоморру. В то время Иорданская долина до самого Сигора была словно сад Господний; земля там была такая же плодородная, как и в Египте). 11-12 Аврам и Лот отделились друг от друга: Аврам остался в Ханаанской земле, Лот же выбрал себе Иорданскую долину. Он отправился на восток и поселился между городами в долине. Лот пошёл далеко к Содому и раскинул там свои шатры. 13 Господь знал, что жители Содома были великими грешниками.
14 После того как Лот ушёл, Господь сказал Авраму: «Оглядись вокруг, посмотри на север, юг, восток и запад. 15 Всю эту землю, которую ты видишь, Я отдам тебе и твоим потомкам. Эта земля будет навеки твоей. 16 Я приумножу твоё потомство, и будет их словно пылинок на земле. Если бы можно было сосчитать пылинки на земле, то и твоих потомков можно было бы пересчитать. 17 Иди и пройди по своей земле вдоль и поперёк, потому что отныне Я отдаю её тебе».
18 Передвинув свои шатры, Аврам поселился вблизи дубравы Мамре, неподалеку от города Хеврона, и соорудил там алтарь для поклонения Господу.

Abram and Lot Separate
13 So Abram went up from Egypt(A) to the Negev,(B) with his wife and everything he had, and Lot(C) went with him. 2 Abram had become very wealthy(D) in livestock(E) and in silver and gold.
3 From the Negev(F) he went from place to place until he came to Bethel,(G) to the place between Bethel and Ai(H) where his tent had been earlier 4 and where he had first built an altar.(I) There Abram called on the name of the Lord.(J)
5 Now Lot,(K) who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. 6 But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.(L) 7 And quarreling(M) arose between Abram’s herders and Lot’s. The Canaanites(N) and Perizzites(O) were also living in the land(P) at that time.
8 So Abram said to Lot,(Q) “Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me,(R) or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.(S) 9 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.”(T)
10 Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain(U) of the Jordan toward Zoar(V) was well watered, like the garden of the Lord,(W) like the land of Egypt.(X) (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom(Y) and Gomorrah.)(Z) 11 So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: 12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan,(AA) while Lot(AB) lived among the cities of the plain(AC) and pitched his tents near Sodom.(AD) 13 Now the people of Sodom(AE) were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.(AF)
14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west.(AG) 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring[a] forever.(AH) 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.(AI) 17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land,(AJ) for I am giving it to you.”(AK)
18 So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre(AL) at Hebron,(AM) where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the Lord.(AN)
