¹⁸ And they installed the priests in their divisions^(A) and the Levites in their groups^(B) for the service of God at Jerusalem, according to what is written in the Book of Moses.^(C)

¹⁹ The gatekeepers:

³⁰ Zanoah,^(A) Adullam^(B) and their villages, in Lachish^(C) and its fields, and in Azekah^(D) and its settlements. So they were living all the way from Beersheba^(E) to the Valley of Hinnom.

²⁴ And the leaders of the Levites^(A) were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, Jeshua son of Kadmiel, and their associates, who stood opposite them to give praise and thanksgiving, one section responding to the other, as prescribed by David the man of God.^(B)

⁹ I gave orders to purify the rooms,^(A) and then I put back into them the equipment of the house of God, with the grain offerings and the incense.^(B)

¹⁰ I also learned that the portions assigned to the Levites had not been given to them,^(C) and that all the Levites and musicians responsible for the service had gone back to their own fields.^(D)
