Profecía contra Tiro
26 Y sucedió que en el undécimo año, el día primero del mes, vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo: 2 Hijo de hombre, por cuanto Tiro(A) ha dicho acerca de Jerusalén: «¡Ajá!, la puerta(B) de los pueblos está rota, se abrió[a] para mí(C), me llenaré, ya que ella está asolada», 3 por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios[b]: «He aquí, estoy contra ti(D), Tiro, y haré subir contra ti muchas naciones, como el mar hace subir sus olas(E). 4 Y destruirán las murallas de Tiro y demolerán sus torres(F); barreré de ella sus escombros y la haré una roca[c] desnuda. 5 Será tendedero de redes en medio del mar, porque yo he hablado» —declara el Señor Dios— «y ella será despojo para las naciones(G). 6 Y sus hijas que están tierra adentro[d], serán muertas a espada(H); y sabrán que yo soy el Señor».
7 Porque así dice el Señor Dios: He aquí, traeré por el norte sobre Tiro a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, rey de reyes(I), con caballos, carros, jinetes y un gran ejército[e](J). 8 Matará a espada a tus hijas que están tierra adentro[f]. Edificará contra ti muros de asedio(K), levantará contra ti un terraplén y alzará contra ti un escudo grande(L). 9 Y dirigirá el golpe de sus arietes contra tus murallas, y con sus hachas[g] demolerá tus torres. 10 Por la multitud de sus caballos, su polvo te cubrirá; por el estruendo de la caballería, de las carretas[h] y de los carros(M), se estremecerán tus murallas(N) cuando entre él por tus puertas(O) como se entra en una ciudad en que se ha hecho brecha. 11 Con los cascos de sus caballos hollará todas tus calles(P), a tu pueblo matará a espada, y tus fuertes columnas caerán por tierra(Q). 12 También saquearán tus riquezas y robarán tus mercancías(R); demolerán tus murallas(S) y destruirán tus casas suntuosas(T), y arrojarán[i] al agua tus piedras, tus maderas y tus escombros(U). 13 Así haré cesar el ruido de tus canciones, y el son de tus arpas(V) no se oirá más(W). 14 Y haré de ti una roca[j] desnuda; serás un tendedero de redes. No volverás a ser edificada(X), porque yo, el Señor, he hablado —declara el Señor Dios(Y).
15 Así dice el Señor Dios a Tiro: Al estruendo(Z) de tu caída, cuando giman los heridos, cuando se haga la matanza en medio de ti, ¿no se estremecerán las costas(AA)? 16 Entonces descenderán de sus tronos todos los príncipes del mar, se quitarán sus mantos y se despojarán de sus vestiduras(AB) bordadas. Se vestirán de temores(AC), se sentarán en tierra, temblarán a cada momento y se horrorizarán a causa de ti(AD). 17 Elevarán una elegía por ti, y te dirán:
«¡Cómo has perecido, habitada de los mares(AE),
la ciudad renombrada,
que era poderosa en el mar(AF)!
Ella y sus habitantes,
infundían[k] terror
a todos sus vecinos[l](AG).
18 Ahora tiemblan las costas
por el día de tu caída(AH);
sí, las costas del[m] mar se espantan de tu fin(AI)».
19 Porque así dice el Señor Dios: Cuando yo te convierta en una ciudad desolada, como las ciudades despobladas; cuando haga subir sobre ti el abismo, y te cubran las grandes aguas(AJ), 20 entonces te haré descender con los que descienden a la fosa, con el pueblo de antaño(AK), y te haré habitar en las profundidades de la tierra(AL), como las antiguas ruinas, con los que descienden a la fosa, para que no seas habitada[n]; y pondré gloria en la tierra de los vivientes(AM). 21 Traeré sobre ti[o] terrores, y no existirás más(AN); aunque seas buscada, no serás encontrada jamás(AO) —declara el Señor Dios.

Profecía contra la ciudad de Tiro
26 El día primero del mes, en el año once, el Señor se dirigió a mí, y me dijo: 2 «Tiro ha dicho, a propósito de Jerusalén:
»“¡Ah, la puerta del comercio entre las naciones
está hecha pedazos!
¡Ahora ha llegado mi turno!
Yo me lleno de riquezas
mientras ella queda en ruinas.”
3 »Por eso yo, el Señor, digo:
Tiro, yo me declaro tu enemigo.
Haré que muchas naciones se levanten contra ti,
como levanta el mar sus olas,
4 y que destruyan tus murallas
y echen abajo tus torres.
Hasta el polvo barreré de su lugar,
y sólo dejaré una roca pelada.
5 En medio del mar quedará,
como un lugar para poner las redes a secar.
Yo, el Señor, lo afirmo.
Tiro será saqueada por las naciones,
6 y sus colonias en tierra firme
caerán a filo de espada.
Entonces reconocerán que yo soy el Señor.
7 »Yo, el Señor, digo:
Voy a hacer venir del norte
a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia,
el rey más poderoso,
para que ataque a Tiro.
Vendrá con caballos, y carros, y jinetes,
y con muchas tropas reunidas.
8 A filo de espada destruirá
tus colonias en tierra firme;
construirá un muro alrededor de ti,
levantará rampas para atacarte
y lanzará contra ti soldados armados con escudos.
9 Atacará con arietes tus murallas
y a golpe de barra destrozará tus torres.
10 Cuando el rey de Babilonia entre por tus puertas
como se entra en una ciudad tomada por asalto,
serán tantos los caballos,
que te cubrirán con el polvo que levanten;
tus murallas temblarán
al estruendo de sus carros y caballería;
11 los cascos de sus caballos
pisotearán todas tus calles.
Matará a tu pueblo a filo de espada,
y echará por tierra tus fuertes columnas.
12 Te dejarán sin riquezas,
te robarán tus mercancías,
derribarán tus murallas
y echarán abajo tus lujosos palacios;
arrojarán al mar las piedras,
las vigas y hasta los escombros.
13 Así pondré fin al ruido de tus canciones,
y no se volverá a oír el sonido de tus arpas.
14 Te convertiré en una roca pelada,
en un lugar para poner las redes a secar,
y nunca más serás reconstruida.
Yo, el Señor, he hablado;
yo, el Señor, lo afirmo.
15 »Yo, el Señor, digo a Tiro: Los países del mar temblarán al oír el ruido de tu caída, entre los gemidos de los heridos y la matanza de tus habitantes. 16 Todos los reyes del mar bajarán de sus tronos, y se quitarán sus capas y sus vestidos bordados; llenos de terror se sentarán en el suelo, temblando a todas horas y espantados al verte. 17 Entonces te dedicarán este canto fúnebre:
»“¡Cómo fuiste destruida,
cómo desapareciste del mar, ciudad famosa!
¡Tú, con tu gente, fuiste poderosa en el mar
y sembraste el terror en todo el continente!
18 Ahora que has caído,
los países del mar tiemblan de miedo.
Ahora que has desaparecido,
las islas del mar se llenan de espanto.”
19 »Porque esto digo yo, el Señor: Te voy a dejar en ruinas, como las ciudades donde no vive nadie. Voy a hacer que te cubran las aguas profundas del mar, 20 y que te hundas hasta donde están los muertos, la gente que vivió en el pasado. Te arrojaré a lo más profundo de la tierra, al país de eternas ruinas, y vivirás entre los que ya han muerto. No volverás a tener habitantes, ni serás reconstruida en esta tierra de los que viven. 21 Te convertiré en algo terrible, y dejarás de existir. Te buscarán, y jamás volverán a encontrarte. Yo, el Señor, lo afirmo.»

A Prophecy Against Tyre
26 In the eleventh month of the twelfth[a] year, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me:(A) 2 “Son of man, because Tyre(B) has said of Jerusalem, ‘Aha!(C) The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,’ 3 therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the sea(D) casting up its waves. 4 They will destroy(E) the walls of Tyre(F) and pull down her towers; I will scrape away her rubble and make her a bare rock. 5 Out in the sea(G) she will become a place to spread fishnets,(H) for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord. She will become plunder(I) for the nations,(J) 6 and her settlements on the mainland will be ravaged by the sword. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
7 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: From the north I am going to bring against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar[b](K) king of Babylon, king of kings,(L) with horses and chariots,(M) with horsemen and a great army. 8 He will ravage your settlements on the mainland with the sword; he will set up siege works(N) against you, build a ramp(O) up to your walls and raise his shields against you. 9 He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and demolish your towers with his weapons.(P) 10 His horses will be so many that they will cover you with dust. Your walls will tremble at the noise of the warhorses, wagons and chariots(Q) when he enters your gates as men enter a city whose walls have been broken through. 11 The hooves(R) of his horses will trample all your streets; he will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars(S) will fall to the ground.(T) 12 They will plunder your wealth and loot your merchandise; they will break down your walls and demolish your fine houses and throw your stones, timber and rubble into the sea.(U) 13 I will put an end(V) to your noisy songs,(W) and the music of your harps(X) will be heard no more.(Y) 14 I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt,(Z) for I the Lord have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord.
15 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says to Tyre: Will not the coastlands(AA) tremble(AB) at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan(AC) and the slaughter takes place in you? 16 Then all the princes of the coast will step down from their thrones and lay aside their robes and take off their embroidered(AD) garments. Clothed(AE) with terror, they will sit on the ground,(AF) trembling(AG) every moment, appalled(AH) at you. 17 Then they will take up a lament(AI) concerning you and say to you:
“‘How you are destroyed, city of renown,
peopled by men of the sea!
You were a power on the seas,
you and your citizens;
you put your terror
on all who lived there.(AJ)
18 Now the coastlands tremble(AK)
on the day of your fall;
the islands in the sea
are terrified at your collapse.’(AL)
19 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When I make you a desolate city, like cities no longer inhabited, and when I bring the ocean depths(AM) over you and its vast waters cover you,(AN) 20 then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit,(AO) to the people of long ago. I will make you dwell in the earth below, as in ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, and you will not return or take your place[c] in the land of the living.(AP) 21 I will bring you to a horrible end and you will be no more.(AQ) You will be sought, but you will never again be found, declares the Sovereign Lord.”(AR)
