2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.
3 And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.
4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.
5 And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

2 In visions(A) of God he took me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain,(B) on whose south side were some buildings that looked like a city. 3 He took me there, and I saw a man whose appearance was like bronze;(C) he was standing in the gateway with a linen cord and a measuring rod(D) in his hand. 4 The man said to me, “Son of man, look carefully and listen closely and pay attention to everything I am going to show you,(E) for that is why you have been brought here. Tell(F) the people of Israel everything you see.(G)”

5 I saw a wall completely surrounding the temple area. The length of the measuring rod in the man’s hand was six long cubits,[a] each of which was a cubit and a handbreadth. He measured(H) the wall; it was one measuring rod thick and one rod high.

(D)He had a line of flax (E)and a measuring rod in his hand, and he stood in the gateway.
4 And the man said to me, (F)“Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and [a]fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. (G)Declare to the house of Israel everything you see.” 5 Now there was (H)a wall all around the outside of the [b]temple. In the man’s hand was a measuring rod six [c]cubits long, each being a cubit and a handbreadth; and he measured the width of the wall structure, one rod; and the height, one rod.
