¹² The Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the ^(B)tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”

¹⁸ And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the ^(A)two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with ^(B)the finger of God.

Moses Makes New Tablets

34 The Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, ^(B)and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, ^(C)which you broke. ² Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me ^(D)on the top of the mountain. ³ No ^(E)one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite that mountain.” ⁴ So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first. And he rose early in the morning and went up on Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone.

^13 (A)And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, ^(B)the Ten Commandments,^{[a] (C)}and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.

²² “These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly ^(A)at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And ^(B)he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

^9 (A)When I went up the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord made with you, I remained on the mountain ^(B)forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water. ¹⁰ And ^(C)the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them were all the words that the Lord had spoken with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire ^(D)on the day of the assembly. ¹¹ And at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant.
