cavallo e cavaliere.
e i suoi combattenti scelti
furono sommersi nel Mare Rosso.
5 Gli abissi li ricoprirono,
sprofondarono come pietra.
6 La tua destra, Signore,
terribile per la potenza,
la tua destra, Signore,
annienta il nemico;
7 con sublime grandezza
abbatti i tuoi avversari,
scateni il tuo furore
che li divora come paglia.
8 Al soffio della tua ira
si accumularono le acque,
si alzarono le onde
come un argine,
si rappresero gli abissi
in fondo al mare.
9 Il nemico aveva detto:
Inseguirò, raggiungerò,
spartirò il bottino,
se ne sazierà la mia brama;
sfodererò la spada,
li conquisterà la mia mano!
10 Soffiasti con il tuo alito:
il mare li coprì,
sprofondarono come piombo
in acque profonde.
Chi è come te,
maestoso in santità,
tremendo nelle imprese,
operatore di prodigi?
12 Stendesti la destra:
la terra li inghiottì.
13 Guidasti con il tuo favore
questo popolo che hai riscattato,
lo conducesti con forza
alla tua santa dimora.
14 Hanno udito i popoli e tremano;
dolore incolse gli abitanti della Filistea.
15 Gia si spaventano i capi di Edom,
i potenti di Moab li prende il timore;
tremano tutti gli abitanti di Canaan.
16 Piombano sopra di loro
la paura e il terrore;
per la potenza del tuo braccio
restano immobili come pietra,
finché sia passato il tuo popolo, Signore,
finché sia passato questo tuo popolo
che ti sei acquistato.
17 Lo fai entrare e lo pianti
sul monte della tua eredità,
luogo che per tua sede,
Signore, hai preparato,
cavallo e cavaliere!».
II. IL CAMMINO NEL DESERTO
Mara

The Song of Moses and Israel
15 (A)Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song to Yahweh [a]and said,
“[b](B)I will sing to Yahweh, for He [c]is highly exalted;
(C)The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea.
2 [d](D)Yah is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
(E)This is my God, and I will praise Him;
(F)My father’s God, and I will (G)extol Him.
3 (H)Yahweh is a warrior;
(I)Yahweh is His name.
4 (J)Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has cast into the sea;
And the choicest of his officers are sunk in the [e]Red Sea.
5 The deeps cover them;
(K)They went down into the depths like a stone.
6 (L)Your right hand, O Yahweh, is majestic in power,
(M)Your right hand, O Yahweh, shatters the enemy.
7 And in the greatness of Your [f]exaltation You (N)pull down those who rise up against You;
(O)You send forth Your burning anger, and it (P)devours them as chaff.
8 (Q)And at the blast of Your nostrils the waters were piled up,
(R)The flowing waters stood up like a heap;
The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 (S)The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will (T)divide the spoil;
My [g]desire shall be fulfilled against them;
I will draw out my sword, my hand will dispossess them.’
10 (U)You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them;
(V)They sank like lead in the [h]mighty waters.
11 (W)Who is like You among the gods, O Yahweh?
Who is like You, (X)majestic in holiness,
(Y)Fearsome in praises, (Z)working wonders?
12 (AA)You stretched out Your right hand,
The earth swallowed them.
13 In Your lovingkindness You have (AB)guided the people whom You have (AC)redeemed;
In Your strength You have led them (AD)to Your holy habitation.
14 (AE)The peoples have heard, they tremble;
Anguish has seized the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 Then the (AF)chiefs of Edom were dismayed;
(AG)The leaders of Moab, trembling seizes them;
(AH)All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.
16 (AI)Terror and dread fall upon them;
(AJ)By the greatness of Your arm they are still as stone;
Until Your people pass over, O Yahweh,
Until the people pass over whom You (AK)have purchased.
17 (AL)You will bring them and (AM)plant them in (AN)the mountain of Your inheritance,
(AO)The place, O Yahweh, which You have made for You to inhabit,
(AP)The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.
18 (AQ)Yahweh shall reign forever and ever.”
19 (AR)For the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the sons of Israel walked on (AS)dry land through the midst of the sea.
20 (AT)And Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the (AU)tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with [i](AV)dancing. 21 And Miriam answered them,
“(AW)Sing to Yahweh, for He [j]is highly exalted;
The horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”
Yahweh Sweetens the Water
22 (AX)Then Moses [k]had Israel set out from the [l]Red Sea, and they went out into (AY)the wilderness of (AZ)Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 And they came to (BA)Marah, but they could not drink the waters [m]of Marah, for they were [n]bitter; therefore it was named [o]Marah. 24 So the people (BB)grumbled at Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25 Then he (BC)cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him (BD)a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet.
There He (BE)set for them a statute and a judgment, and there He (BF)tested them. 26 And He said, “(BG)If you will earnestly listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear (BH)to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, (BI)I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, (BJ)Yahweh, am your healer.”
27 Then they came to (BK)Elim where there were twelve springs of water and seventy date palms, and they camped there beside the waters.

Exodus 15
King James Version
15 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.
4 Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6 Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11 Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15 Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O Lord, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
18 The Lord shall reign for ever and ever.
19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
27 And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
