Ang Ikalawang Salot: Ang Napakaraming Palaka
8 Pagkaraan noon, sinabi ni Yahweh kay Moises, “Pumunta ka sa Faraon. Sabihin mong ito ang ipinapasabi ko: Payagan mo nang umalis ang mga Israelita upang sumamba sa akin. 2-3 Kapag hindi ka pumayag, patuloy kong pahihirapan ang buong Egipto. Pupunuin ko ng palaka ang Ilog Nilo. Papasukin ng mga ito ang palasyo at aakyatin pati higaan mo. Papasukin din ng mga ito ang bahay ng mga tauhan mo at ng lahat ng Egipcio, ganoon din ang inyong mga lutuan at lalagyan ng pagkain. 4 Ikaw, ang iyong mga tauhan, at ang buong bayan ay pahihirapan nito.”
5 Sinabi pa ni Yahweh, “Sabihin mo naman kay Aaron na itapat niya sa ilog ang kanyang tungkod, gayon din sa mga kanal at mga lawa upang mapunô ng palaka ang buong Egipto.” 6 Ganoon nga ang ginawa ni Aaron. Umahon sa ilog ang mga palakang di mabilang sa dami at kumalat sa buong Egipto. 7 Ngunit nagaya rin ito ng mga salamangkero sa pamamagitan ng kanilang lihim na karunungan.
8 Ipinatawag ng Faraon sina Moises at Aaron. Sinabi niya, “Hilingin ninyo kay Yahweh na alisin ang mga palakang ito at papayagan ko na kayong maghandog sa kanya.”
9 Sinabi ni Moises, “Karangalan kong malaman kung kailan ninyo nais na idalangin ko kayo kay Yahweh, pati ang inyong mga tauhan at nasasakupan. At mawawala na ang mga palaka, maliban ang mga nasa ilog.”
10 “Bukas kung ganoon,” sabi ng Faraon.
“Matutupad po ayon sa inyong sinabi para malaman ninyo na walang kapantay ang Diyos naming si Yahweh. 11 Mawawala ang mga palaka at ang matitira lamang ay ang nasa ilog.” 12 Lumakad na sina Moises at Aaron. At tulad ng pangako nila, idinalangin ni Moises na alisin ang mga palakang nagpapahirap sa Faraon. 13 Tinugon naman siya ni Yahweh; namatay lahat ang mga palaka sa mga bahay at mga bukid. 14 Ibinunton ng mga Egipcio ang mga patay na palaka at umaalingasaw ang baho nito sa buong Egipto. 15 Ngunit nagmatigas muli ang Faraon nang ito'y makahinga na naman nang maluwag. At tulad ng sinabi ni Yahweh, hindi pa rin siya nakinig kina Moises at Aaron.
Ang Ikatlong Salot: Ang mga Niknik
16 Inutusan ni Yahweh si Moises na sabihin kay Aaron na ihampas sa lupa ang tungkod upang maging niknik ang lahat ng alikabok sa buong Egipto. 17 Inihampas nga ni Aaron ang tungkod at ang lahat ng alikabok sa buong Egipto ay naging niknik na labis na nagpahirap sa mga tao't mga hayop. 18 Pinilit ng mga salamangkero na magpalitaw rin ng niknik sa pamamagitan ng lihim nilang karunungan ngunit hindi nila ito nagawa. At ang mga tao't hayop ay patuloy na pinahirapan ng mga niknik. 19 Dahil(A) dito'y sinabi ng mga salamangkero sa Faraon, “Diyos na ang may gawa nito.” Ngunit hindi rin natinag ang kalooban ng Faraon; hindi rin siya nakinig kina Moises at Aaron, tulad ng sinabi ni Yahweh.
Ang Ikaapat na Salot: Ang mga Langaw
20 Dahil dito, sinabi ni Yahweh kay Moises, “Bukas ng umaga, hintayin mo ang Faraon pagpunta niya sa ilog at sabihin mong payagan na niyang umalis ang mga Israelita upang sumamba sa akin. 21 Kapag hindi niya pinayagan, padadagsaan ko siya ng makapal na langaw, pati ang kanyang mga tauhan at mga kababayan. Mapupuno ng langaw ang mga bahay ng mga Egipcio, pati ang lupang kanilang lalakaran. 22 Ngunit ililigtas ko ang lupain ng Goshen, ang tirahan ng mga Israelita. Hindi ko sila padadalhan ni isa mang langaw para malaman niyang akong si Yahweh ang siyang makapangyarihan sa lupaing ito. 23 Sa pamamagitan ng kababalaghang gagawin ko bukas, ipapakita ko na iba ang pagtingin ko sa aking bayan at sa kanyang bayan.” 24 Kinabukasan, ginawa nga ito ni Yahweh. Dumagsa sa Egipto ang makapal na langaw hanggang sa mapuno ang palasyo ng Faraon, ang bahay ng mga tauhan niya at ang buong Egipto. Dahil dito'y nasalanta ang buong bansa.
25 Kaya, ipinatawag ng Faraon sina Moises at Aaron at sinabi, “Sige, maghandog na kayo sa inyong Diyos, huwag lamang kayong lalabas ng Egipto.”
26 Sumagot si Moises, “Hindi po maaaring dito sa Egipto. Magagalit po sa amin ang mga Egipcio kapag nakita nila kaming naghahandog kay Yahweh sa paraang kasuklam-suklam sa kanila. Tiyak na babatuhin nila kami hanggang mamatay. 27 Ang kailangan po'y maglakbay kami ng tatlong araw at sa ilang kami maghahandog kay Yahweh tulad ng utos niya sa amin.”
28 Sinabi ng Faraon, “Papayagan ko kayong umalis, ngunit huwag kayong masyadong lalayo. At ipanalangin din ninyo ako.”
29 Sumagot si Moises, “Pag-alis ko po rito'y ipapanalangin ko kay Yahweh na alisin sa inyo ang mga langaw, gayon din sa inyong mga tauhan at nasasakupan. Ngunit huwag na ninyo kaming dadayain; huwag ninyo kaming hahadlangan sa paghahandog namin kay Yahweh.”
30 Umalis si Moises at nanalangin. 31 Tinugon naman siya ni Yahweh, at umalis nga ang mga langaw; walang natira ni isa man. 32 Ngunit nagmatigas pa rin ang Faraon; hindi niya pinayagang umalis ang mga Israelita.

8 And the Lord spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
2 And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:
4 And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants.
5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
6 And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.
8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the Lord, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the Lord.
9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only?
10 And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the Lord our God.
11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.
12 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the Lord because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
13 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields.
14 And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank.
15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said.
16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast.
19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said.
20 And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth.
23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be.
24 And the Lord did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants' houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies.
25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land.
26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?
27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the Lord our God, as he shall command us.
28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
29 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.
30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the Lord.
31 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one.
32 And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.

The Second Plague: Frogs
8 And the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, (A)that they may serve Me. 2 But if you (B)refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with (C)frogs. 3 So the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your (D)bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls. 4 And the frogs shall come up on you, on your people, and on all your servants.” ’ ”
5 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, (E)‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’ ” 6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and (F)the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt. 7 (G)And the magicians did so with their [a]enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.
8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, (H)“Entreat[b] the Lord that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people (I)go, that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”
9 And Moses said to Pharaoh, “Accept the honor of saying when I shall intercede for you, for your servants, and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, that they may remain in the river only.”
10 So he said, “Tomorrow.” And he said, “Let it be according to your word, that you may know that (J)there is no one like the Lord our God. 11 And the frogs shall depart from you, from your houses, from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”
12 Then Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh. And Moses (K)cried out to the Lord concerning the frogs which He had brought against Pharaoh. 13 So the Lord did according to the word of Moses. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields. 14 They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was (L)relief, (M)he hardened his heart and did not heed them, as the Lord had said.
The Third Plague: Lice
16 So the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it may become [c]lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’ ” 17 And they did so. For Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and (N)it became lice on man and beast. All the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
18 Now (O)the magicians so worked with their [d]enchantments to bring forth lice, but they (P)could not. So there were lice on man and beast. 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is (Q)the[e] finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s (R)heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the Lord had said.
The Fourth Plague: Flies
20 And the Lord said to Moses, (S)“Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh as he comes out to the water. Then say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: (T)“Let My people go, that they may serve Me. 21 Or else, if you will not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and your servants, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they stand. 22 And in that day (U)I will set apart the land of (V)Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may (W)know that I am the Lord in the midst of the (X)land. 23 I will [f]make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this (Y)sign shall be.” ’ ” 24 And the Lord did so. (Z)Thick swarms of flies came into the house of Pharaoh, into his servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt. The land was corrupted because of the swarms of flies.
25 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.”
26 And Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing (AA)the abomination of the Egyptians to the Lord our God. If we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not [g]stone us? 27 We will go (AB)three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God as (AC)He will command us.”
28 So Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. (AD)Intercede for me.”
29 Then Moses said, “Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the Lord, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not (AE)deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.”
30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh and (AF)entreated the Lord. 31 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained. 32 But Pharaoh (AG)hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go.
