10 Sinabi ni Yahweh kay Moises, “Pumunta ka sa Faraon. Pinagmatigas ko ang kanyang kalooban at ng kanyang mga tauhan para maipakita ko sa kanila ang aking kapangyarihan. 2 Ginagawa ko ang mga kababalaghang ito upang masabi ninyo sa inyong mga anak at apo kung paano ko ipinakita sa mga Egipcio ang aking kapangyarihan at sa gayo'y kikilalanin ninyong lahat na ako si Yahweh.”
3 Pumunta sa Faraon sina Moises at Aaron at sinabi, “Ito ang ipinapasabi ni Yahweh: ‘Hanggang kailan ka ba magmamatigas? Payagan mo nang umalis ang mga Israelita upang sumamba sa akin. 4 Kapag hindi mo pa sila pinayagan, bukas na bukas din ay magpapadala ako ng makapal na balang sa iyong bansa. 5 Mapupuno nito ang buong Egipto, kaya't wala kang makikita kundi balang. Uubusin nito ang lahat ng hindi nasira sa pag-ulan ng malalaking tipak ng yelo, pati ang mga punongkahoy. 6 Papasukin ng mga ito ang iyong palasyo at ang bahay ng iyong mga tauhan at mga nasasakupan. Ang salot na ito ay higit na matindi kaysa alinmang salot ng balang na naranasan ng inyong mga ninuno.’” Pagkasabi nito'y umalis si Moises.
7 Sinabi sa Faraon ng kanyang mga tauhan, “Hanggang kailan pa kaya tayo guguluhin ng taong ito? Payagan na ninyo silang umalis upang sumamba sa Diyos nilang si Yahweh. Hindi ba ninyo nakikitang nawawasak na ang buong Egipto?”
8 Kaya't ipinasundo ng Faraon sina Moises at Aaron. Sinabi niya, “Kung papayagan ko kayong umalis upang sumamba kay Yahweh, sinu-sino ang inyong isasama?”
9 Sumagot si Moises, “Lahat po kami, mula sa pinakabata hanggang sa pinakamatanda. Dadalhin din naming lahat ang aming mga tupa, kambing at mga baka. Kailangan pong kasamang lahat sapagkat ipagpipista namin si Yahweh.”
10 Sinabi ng Faraon, “Tawagin na ninyo si Yahweh, hindi ko papayagang isama ninyo ang inyong mga asawa't mga anak. Maliwanag na may binabalak kayong masama. 11 Hindi ako papayag na isama ninyo ang lahat, kayo na lang mga lalaki ang umalis upang sumamba sa inyong Yahweh kung iyan ang gusto ninyo.” Pagkasabi nito'y ipinagtabuyan sila ng Faraon.
12 Sinabi ni Yahweh kay Moises, “Iunat mong pataas ang iyong kamay at dadagsa sa buong Egipto ang makapal na balang. Uubusin ng mga ito ang mga halamang hindi nasira sa pag-ulan ng malalaking tipak ng yelo.” 13 Itinaas nga ni Moises ang kanyang tungkod. Maghapo't magdamag na pinaihip ni Yahweh sa buong Egipto ang hangin mula sa silangan. Kinaumagahan, tangay na ng hangin ang makapal na balang 14 at(A) ito'y dumagsa sa buong Egipto. Kailanma'y hindi nagkaroon ng ganoon karaming balang sa lupaing ito at hindi na magkakaroon pang muli. 15 Nangitim ang lupa sa dami ng balang; inubos ng mga ito ang lahat ng halaman, pati mga bunga ng kahoy na hindi nasira sa pag-ulan ng malalaking tipak ng yelo. Walang halaman o punongkahoy na naiwang may dahon sa buong lupain.
16 Dali-daling ipinatawag ng Faraon sina Moises at Aaron. Sinabi niya, “Nagkasala ako kay Yahweh na inyong Diyos, gayundin sa inyo. 17 Patawarin ninyo ako at ipinapakiusap kong ipanalangin ninyo kay Yahweh na alisin na sa akin ang nakamamatay na parusang ito.” 18 Iniwan ni Moises ang Faraon at siya'y nanalangin. 19 Binago naman ni Yahweh ang takbo ng hangin. Pinaihip niya ang malakas na hangin mula sa kanluran at tinangay nito ang lahat ng balang papunta sa Dagat na Pula;[a] isa ma'y walang natira sa Egipto. 20 Ngunit pinagmatigas ni Yahweh ang Faraon; hindi nito pinayagang umalis ang mga Israelita.
Ang Ikasiyam na Salot: Ang Kadiliman sa Egipto
21 Sinabi(B) ni Yahweh kay Moises, “Iunat mong pataas ang iyong kamay, at mababalot ng dilim ang buong Egipto.” 22 Ganoon(C) nga ang ginawa ni Moises at nagdilim sa buong lupain sa loob ng tatlong araw. 23 Hindi magkakitaan ang mga tao sa buong Egipto, kaya't walang taong umalis sa kanyang kinaroroonan sa loob ng tatlong araw. Madilim na madilim sa buong Egipto maliban sa tirahan ng mga Israelita.
24 Tinawag ng Faraon si Moises. Sinabi niya, “Makakaalis na kayo upang sumamba kay Yahweh. Maaari ninyong isama ang inyong mga pamilya, ngunit iiwan ninyo ang lahat ng tupa, kambing at baka.”
25 Sumagot si Moises, “Hindi po maaari. Kailangang bigyan ninyo kami ng mga hayop na ihahandog namin kay Yahweh na aming Diyos. 26 Kaya kailangang dalhin din namin ang lahat naming hayop at wala ni isa mang maiiwan sapagkat pipiliin pa namin sa mga ito ang ihahandog namin kay Yahweh. At hindi namin malalaman kung alin ang ihahandog namin sa kanya hanggang hindi kami dumarating sa lugar na pagdarausan namin ng pagsamba.”
27 Pinagmatigas pa rin ni Yahweh ang Faraon; ayaw na naman niyang paalisin ang mga Israelita. 28 Sinabi niya kay Moises, “Lumayas ka na at huwag ka nang magpapakita sa akin. Ipapapatay na kita kapag nakita ko pa ang pagmumukha mo.”
29 “Masusunod ang gusto ninyo,” sagot ni Moises. “Hindi mo na ako muling makikita.”

10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord.
3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
5 And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
6 And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
7 And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
8 And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the Lord your God: but who are they that shall go?
9 And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the Lord.
10 And he said unto them, Let the Lord be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
11 Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
12 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14 And the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the Lord your God, and against you.
17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the Lord your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
18 And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the Lord.
19 And the Lord turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
20 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
21 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God.
26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the Lord our God; and we know not with what we must serve the Lord, until we come thither.
27 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
29 And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

The Eighth Plague: Locusts
10 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these signs of mine among them, 2 and (A)that you may tell in the hearing of your son and of your grandson how I have dealt harshly with the Egyptians and what signs I have done among them, (B)that you may know that I am the Lord.”
3 So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, ‘How long will you refuse to (C)humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me. 4 For if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring (D)locusts into your country, 5 and they shall cover the face of the land, so that no one can see the land. And they shall (E)eat what is left to you after the hail, and they shall eat every tree of yours that grows in the field, 6 and they shall fill (F)your houses and the houses of all your servants and of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen, from the day they came on earth to this day.’” Then he turned and went out from Pharaoh.
7 Then Pharaoh's servants said to him, “How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the Lord their God. Do you not yet understand that Egypt is ruined?” 8 So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. And he said to them, (G)“Go, serve the Lord your God. But which ones are to go?” 9 Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old. We will go with our sons and daughters and with our flocks and herds, for (H)we must hold a feast to the Lord.” 10 But he said to them, “The Lord be with you, if ever I let you and your (I)little ones go! Look, you have some evil purpose in mind.[a] 11 No! Go, the men among you, and serve the Lord, for that is what you are asking.” And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, (J)“Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, so that they may come upon the land of Egypt and (K)eat every plant in the land, all that the hail has left.” 13 So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind had brought the locusts. 14 (L)The locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled on the whole country of Egypt, (M)such a dense swarm of locusts as had never been before, nor ever will be again. 15 They covered the face of the whole land, so that the land was darkened, and (N)they ate all the plants in the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Not a green thing remained, neither tree nor plant of the field, through all the land of Egypt. 16 Then Pharaoh hastily called Moses and Aaron and said, (O)“I have sinned against the Lord your God, and against you. 17 Now therefore, forgive my sin, please, only this once, and (P)plead with the Lord your God only to remove this death from me.” 18 So (Q)he went out from Pharaoh and pleaded with the Lord. 19 And the Lord turned the wind into a very strong west wind, which lifted the locusts and drove them (R)into the Red Sea. Not a single locust was left in all the country of Egypt. 20 But the Lord (S)hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go.
The Ninth Plague: Darkness
21 Then the Lord said to Moses, (T)“Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be (U)darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness to be felt.” 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was pitch darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. 23 They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but (V)all the people of Israel had light where they lived. 24 Then Pharaoh called Moses and said, (W)“Go, serve the Lord; (X)your little ones also may go with you; only let your flocks and your herds remain behind.” 25 But Moses said, “You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. 26 Our livestock also must go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for we must take of them to serve the Lord our God, and we do not know with what we must serve the Lord until we arrive there.” 27 But the Lord (Y)hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go. 28 Then Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.” 29 Moses said, “As you say! (Z)I will not see your face again.”
