13 En halv sikel[a] silver ska betalas av alla som upptas bland de mönstrade, efter tempelvikt – en sikel är 20 gera. Denna halvsikel är en offergåva åt Herren. 14 Alla som upptas bland de mönstrade, från tjugo års ålder och uppåt, ska ge denna offergåva till Herren. 15 Den som är rik ska inte ge mer än en halv sikel och den som är fattig inte mindre än en halv sikel, för det är ett offer till Herren som lösen för era liv. 16 Ta emot lösesumman av israeliterna och använd pengarna till tjänsten i uppenbarelsetältet. Så ska Herren komma ihåg israeliterna genom lösepengarna för ert liv.”

13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel,[a] according to the sanctuary shekel,(A) which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord. 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more,(B) are to give an offering to the Lord. 15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less(C) when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives. 16 Receive the atonement(D) money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting.(E) It will be a memorial(F) for the Israelites before the Lord, making atonement for your lives.”
