The Sabbath Emphasized

35 Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, “^(A)These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to ^[a]do:

²“^(B)For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, ^(C)a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord; ^(D)whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. ³^(E)You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”

⁴Moses spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the thing which the Lord has commanded, saying, ⁵‘^(F)Take from among you a ^[b]contribution to the Lord; whoever is of a willing heart is to bring it as the Lord’s ^[c]contribution: gold, silver, and ^[d]bronze, ⁶and ^[e]violet, purple, and scarlet material, fine linen, goats’ hair, ⁷and rams’ skins ^[f]dyed red, and ^[g]fine leather, and acacia wood, ⁸and oil for lighting, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense, ⁹and onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the ^[h]breastpiece.

Tabernacle Artisans

¹⁰‘^(G)Have every skillful person among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded: ¹¹the ^[i]^(H)tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; ¹²the ^(I)ark and its poles, the ^[j]atoning cover, and the covering curtain; ¹³the ^(J)table and its poles, and all its ^[k]utensils, and the bread of the ^[l]Presence; ¹⁴the ^(K)lampstand also for the light and its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light; ¹⁵and the ^(L)altar of incense and its poles, and the ^(M)anointing oil and the ^(N)fragrant incense, and the curtain for the doorway at the ^[m]entrance of the tabernacle; ¹⁶^(O)the altar of burnt offering with its ^[n]bronze grating, its poles, and all its ^[o]utensils, the basin and its stand; ¹⁷^(P)the hangings of the courtyard, its pillars and its bases, and the curtain for the gate of the courtyard; ¹⁸the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the courtyard and their ropes; ¹⁹the ^[p]^(Q)woven garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to serve as priests.’”

Gifts Received

²⁰Then all the congregation of the sons of Israel departed from Moses’ presence. ²¹And ^(R)everyone whose heart ^[q]stirred him and everyone whose spirit ^[r]moved him came and brought the Lord’s ^[s]contribution for the work of the tent of meeting and for all its service, and for the holy garments. ²²Then all ^[t]whose hearts moved them, both men and women, came and brought brooches and ^[u]earrings and signet rings and bracelets, all articles of gold; so did everyone who ^[v]presented an offering of gold to the Lord. ²³Everyone ^[w]who was in possession of violet, purple, or scarlet material or fine linen or goats’ hair, or rams’ skins ^[x]dyed red or fine leather, brought them. ²⁴Everyone who could make a ^[y]contribution of silver and ^[z]bronze brought the Lord’s ^[aa]contribution; and everyone ^[ab]who was in possession of acacia wood for any work of the service brought it. ²⁵And all the ^[ac]skilled women spun with their hands, and brought what they had spun, in violet, purple, and scarlet material, and in fine linen. ²⁶And all the women whose heart ^[ad]stirred with a skill spun the goats’ hair. ²⁷The rulers, moreover, brought the onyx stones and the stones for setting for the ephod and for the ^[ae]breastpiece; ²⁸and ^(S)the spice and the oil for the light and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. ²⁹The ^[af]Israelites, all the men and women, whose heart ^[ag]moved them to bring material for all the work, which the Lord had commanded through Moses to be done, brought a ^[ah]^(T)voluntary offering to the Lord.

³⁰^(U)Then Moses said to the sons of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. ³¹And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all ^[ai]craftsmanship; ³²to create ^[aj]designs for working in gold, in silver, and in ^[ak]bronze, ³³and in the cutting of stones for settings and in the carving of wood, so as to perform in every inventive work. ³⁴He also has put in his heart to teach, both he and ^(V)Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. ³⁵^(W)He has filled them with ^[al]skill to perform every work of an engraver, of a designer, and of an embroiderer, in violet, purple, and in scarlet material, and in fine linen, and of a weaver, as performers of every work and makers of designs.

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “^(A)Do not let your heart be troubled; ^[a]believe in God, believe also in Me. ²In My Father’s house are many ^[b]rooms; if that were not so, ^[c]I would have told you, because ^(B)I am going there to prepare a place for you. ³And if I go and prepare a place for you, ^(C)I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that ^(D)where I am, there you also will be. ⁴And you know the way where I am going.” ⁵^(E)Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?” ⁶Jesus *said to him, “I am ^(F)the way, and ^(G)the truth, and ^(H)the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.

Oneness with the Father

⁷^(I)If you ^[d]had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you ^(J)know Him, and have ^(K)seen Him.”

⁸^(L)Philip *said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” ⁹Jesus *said to him, “Have I been with ^[e]you for so long a time, and yet ^[f]you have not come to know Me, Philip? ^(M)The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰Do you not believe that ^(N)I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? ^(O)The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own, but the Father, as He remains in Me, does His works. ¹¹Believe Me that ^(P)I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise ^(Q)believe because of the works themselves. ¹²Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and ^(R)greater works than these he will do; because ^(S)I am going to the Father. ¹³And ^(T)whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that ^(U)the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴If you ask Me anything ^(V)in My name, I will do it.

¹⁵“^(W)If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

The Holy Spirit

¹⁶I will ask the Father, and He will give you another ^[g]^(X)Helper, so that He may be with you forever; ¹⁷the Helper is ^(Y)the Spirit of truth, ^(Z)whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.

¹⁸“I will not leave you as orphans; ^(AA)I am coming to you. ¹⁹^[h]^(AB)After a little while, ^(AC)the world no longer is going to see Me, but you are going to see Me; ^(AD)because I live, you also will live. ²⁰^(AE)On that day you will know that ^(AF)I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I in you. ²¹^(AG)The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and ^(AH)the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will ^(AI)reveal Myself to him.” ²²^(AJ)Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what has happened ^(AK)that You are going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?” ²³Jesus answered and said to him, “^(AL)If anyone loves Me, he will ^(AM)follow My word; and ^(AN)My Father will love him, and We ^(AO)will come to him and make Our dwelling with him. ²⁴The one who does not love Me ^(AP)does not follow My words; and ^(AQ)the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.

²⁵“These things I have spoken to you while remaining with you. ²⁶But the ^(AR)Helper, the Holy Spirit ^(AS)whom the Father will send in My name, ^(AT)He will teach you all things, and ^(AU)remind you of all that I said to you. ²⁷^(AV)Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. ^[i]^(AW)Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor ^[j]fearful. ²⁸^(AX)You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away, and ^(AY)I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced ^[k]because ^(AZ)I am going to the Father, for ^(BA)the Father is greater than I. ²⁹And now ^(BB)I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. ³⁰I will not speak much more with you, for ^(BC)the ruler of the world is coming, and he has ^[l]nothing in regard to Me, ³¹but so that the world may know that I love the Father, ^[m]I do exactly as ^(BD)the Father commanded Me.
