The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

³ And he who sat there had the appearance of ^(A)jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was ^(B)a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.

^16 (A)As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like ^(B)the gleaming of beryl. ^(C)And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel.
