Mordokajs makt
10 Kung Ahasveros tog ut en skatt av fastlandet och av öarna i havet. 2 Allt vad han i sin makt och väldighet gjorde, liksom skildringen om den storhet till vilken kungen upphöjde Mordokaj, det finns nertecknat i krönikan om Mediens och Persiens kungar. 3 Ty juden Mordokaj var kung Ahasveros närmaste man. Han var mycket ansedd bland judarna och älskad av alla sina bröder. Han sökte sitt folks bästa och talade för alla sina landsmäns välfärd.

10 And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
2 And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3 For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

Mordechai setzt sich weiterhin für sein Volk ein
10 König Xerxes legte den Bewohnern des ganzen persischen Reiches bis hin zu den fernsten Küstengebieten Steuern auf. 2 Seine großen Taten und Verdienste sind in der Chronik der Könige von Medien und Persien beschrieben. Dort steht auch, welche hohe Stellung er Mordechai verlieh: 3 Dieser war nach dem König der mächtigste Mann im Reich. Bei den Juden genoss er ein hohes Ansehen. Er wurde von allen sehr geschätzt, weil ihm das Wohl seines Volkes am Herzen lag und er sich stets für sie eingesetzt hatte.

The Greatness of Mordecai
10 King Xerxes imposed tribute throughout the empire, to its distant shores.(A) 2 And all his acts of power and might, together with a full account of the greatness of Mordecai,(B) whom the king had promoted,(C) are they not written in the book of the annals(D) of the kings of Media and Persia? 3 Mordecai the Jew was second(E) in rank(F) to King Xerxes,(G) preeminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews.(H)
