⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light^(A) in the Lord. Walk as children of light^(B)—

⁸ But since we belong to the day, we must be serious^(A) and put the armor^(B) of faith and love on our chests, and put on a helmet^(C) of the hope of salvation.

¹² The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near,^(A) so let us discard the deeds of darkness^(B) and put on the armor of light.^(C)
